Choosing a Theme for your Wordpress Blog

I have had a very boring theme on my main site for the majority of me being at WA and I didnt really like it and I really wanted it to be user friendly not just on a desktop, but on my phone so it would help stay on top of things when I'm not around the house. So, choosing a theme for my wordpress blog that I could use my phone on my site easier only seemed to make sense. This is extremely easy with wordpress as they offer so many themes with smartphone capability and advance retina display. I don't really care about all that I just want it to be able to be easy, to use for people who have smartphones and visit my site. I thought about this for quite some time and realized Kyle's training is always talking about how Google owns traffic. They own something like 90 something percent of the traffic on smartphones. If this is the case it really seems to only make sense to have a theme in place that is set up for smartphone and tablet capability. I wanted to know if others share this same opinion and if so what themes do you use or do you not really care? Just a Thought and I have just recently updated my site to a theme which I cant remember right now that offers such smartphone capability.

Hi - I would always recommend going for a responsive theme too. You just don't know what people will be using to view your website these days.

I see the one one your current site - getrunnershigh.com - is responsive, so that's definitely a good choice. It's also very clean and simple - which again in my opinion, is a good thing - you don't need distractions when you're trying to just get answers to your questions (as a visitor to your site I mean).

Good job so far. I've used the FLATO theme on a couple of sites - that's free, and responsive - but you will get more for your money if you pay for a good theme - the options you have for customisation will be better.

All the best, Mark

If there are any particular requirements for a theme that i am selecting, I filter them through WordPress' tag filter, where you have a series of check-boxes to go through and then hit search and it will come up with all of the themes with the criteria you have selected.
Find it here at: wordpress.org/themes/tag-filter/.
Hopes this helps you - and everyone else looking for a new theme

It can be overwhelming because there are so many themes. I am experimenting with them as well.
