First Day of a New Adventure
I've never been a blogger, so writing about myself and my experiences is new to me. I've written on plenty of topics before, including sports, computer software, software development, and other technical areas, but actually writing about myself and my life experiences is foreign.
I guess I'll start with some background and how I ended up at WA. I've done the 9 - 5 grind for over 11 years now, and I know that it's not something I'm interested in doing for the rest of my life. There are few opportunities for growth, working harder/more hours gains you nothing, and there's no sense of fulfillment. Plus, you're slave to a work schedule and often miss out on things your kids may have going on during the day. I want something more, and after spending countless hours researching ways other people are leveraging the Internet and the online marketplace to make money, I decided WA was the way to go.
I am currently in debt. A lot of debt. I'm not going to go too much into detail as to how I got there, but suffice to say it was a lot of poor decision-making that has had a negative impact on both my well-being and the well-being of my family. Fortunately, my full-time job is good enough to keep anything truly terrible from happening. However, I've recommitted myself to using my talents, time, and energy to doing everything within my power to create a better life for my wife and kids, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm a firm believer that when I really put my mind to something, do things the right way, and focus on success, I can do anything. I'm nervous, excited, and overwhelmed at the idea of choosing a niche, building my own website, and trying to turn it into a profitable business because I've never done anything like this before. Others have done it though, so why not me? I don't have a good answer for that, so there probably isn't one. I have no expectations of making quick and easy money. WA isn't making unrealistic claims and giving its members false hope, and that's comforting.
That was a bit of a long-winded first blog post, but it was nice to just type out what's been going through my head. I've already had very positive interactions with members of the WA community, and I've only been a member for about three and a half hours. If that's a sign of things to come, I know I'm in the right place.
I'll be posting regularly here to chronicle both my experience with WA, and how I'm working to improve other areas of my life. I'm 33 and feel like I'm starting over in a lot of areas. Hopefully something I say on here will serve as inspiration for others and we can all grow and improve our lives together.

Wow great post. You will do well. Your post made me think of you like Michael Jordan. You took a lot of shots had a lotta misses. At least your still in the game. No one remembers Jordan for all those missed shots because in the end that part didn't matter. Those missed shots and losses we learn from and we get better with practice. 11 years of software development has to have value in telecommuting on sites like upwork or elance. If you want to provide a service instead of a product.

Well, Josh, you've got to start somewhere with a new venture and your post was a great start. There is so much to learn here but don't let that be overwhelming. Step by step, just like when your kids learned to walk. There will be stumbles and falls but we keep getting up and doing, then we can see real progress.
