The reason why!
I will always remember my why. It came to me on may 28, 2020,. I was in our Kitchen and my 75 yr old roommate came in complaining about how he spent his life working as an engineer and now at the end had nothing to show for it.
I followed him out of the kitchen a little ways then walked back in and took a look around and an inward look at my life and asked myself is this all that my life is meant to be.
the answer wasn't what I was looking for. I didn't like the answer that came back to me that day and for the next few days I was walking around in a funk and thinking about the state of my life and what I could do to make it better.
Then on June 1, 2020, as I sat staring at my desk I was for whatever reason staring at my computer intently and it came to me.
I had always wanted to try making money online in the business realm, but being young I always let my family talk me out of it. This time, however, with my family being 3000 miles away from me on the other side of the country I decided to go for it.
It's been a year and a half and while its not been a complete bed of roses I have somehow held and continue to keep the company a float. No loans or venture capitalist money taken at all. I've managed to somehow keep this dream of mine alive on a shoe string budget despite the odds being stacked against me.
In fact, I refuse to let anyone help me financially because I want to be able to look back one day and say I did this I am a self-made man an entrepreneur.
So to make a long story short my why is simply because I wanted to change my life around and create something that I leave behind for my children and now they will be taken care of as well as let them know that everything I am doing or will do has always been about them.
So my children and my legacy. That's it in a nutshell. That's my why. Is it good enough I couldn't say. All I know is that it's kept me going even when I felt like giving up and walking away.
One day when It's my time to go I'll be able to look back on my life and say I truly have no regrets because I lived a life of value dedicated to sharing that value with the world and I'm OK with that.
If you've made it this far I'd like to ask you to go a little further and in the comment section tell us about you why and to reaffirm why you started this journey on the first place. Beside you know maybe you why will help someone struggling to find theirs. So go ahead and leave a comment below if you feel so inclined. Thanks.

Jeff,
I tried setting up woo commerce for my current site but found that share a sale had a much easier way to set up a products page which thankfully has worked out really well.
Now I just need to up my blogging game and get some helpful; knowledgeable posts out their that add value to peoples lives and Ill be set.
Thanks for posting.

You will get it done, I am sure, Joseph! Thanks for the info regarding Share-a-Sale--I might take a look, but the only thing right now holding the Woocommerce site up is loading the invenotry and setting categories! I am ramping up my eBay store to ease the difficulty of separating the inventory to the Woo site, and my eBay sales have been increasing anyway!
Have another excellent day!
Jeff
My Why? is pretty straight forward. I retired after 45 years in IT and then lost all my money to a bad business decision (and some other matters). After coming out of bankruptcy, I needed a new income to fund my retirement. I now have several online businesses that do exactly that.
Phil,
That is really awesome and something I'm trying right now to get implemented for myself.
Its been about a year and a half since I first got started and to be truthful I'm not surprised I'm not further a long than I am.
I spent a lot of time searching for the quick and easy way to make money online only to find out there really is no quick and easy way no matter what the gurus might tell you.
Funny thing is that all along I kept getting told to pick a system and learn and keep working at it until you see success and you'll be fine.
Well I am Applying that advice whole- heartedly this time around and guess what it seems to be working out really well. The website is going well all that I really newed at this point is a contact page and then just write blog posts as everything else is done.
Who knew all you really need to do is focus and do the work.
thanks for posting

Yep, Joseph, you have to ignore all the Get Rich Quick schemes and focus on building a business.

I'm here to have my own business and be in control of my finances without having to depend on anyone else. I want to help my family with the business I am building here and I know it will take time but here to learn all I can to be a success and once I have made some headway on these goals I want to help others build their businesses too:)
