Ready, Set, Go!

When we set our mind to a task and see it through to completion it gives you a sense of accomplishment. It validates the work done and set us up to conquer the next task.

Things may not always go smoothly for you at all times and always, but those are the time we really need to dig deep and find the strength to carry through. There were times when I got completely frustrated with my site for some little imperfection that in truth was easily fixed.

Upon completing the all ten of the getting started lessons I am going to reward myself with an afternoon of video games. I do this for two reasons:

1. I find videos to be extremely fun.

2. Whenever I accomplish a major task I like to celebrate my victory.

celebrate the small wins and the big wins will be just around the corner.

So my question to you is what wins have you celebrated recently. What have you excelled at and out really proud of? Then go out and enjoy your win. You may find that it gives you all the drive and energy you need to take on the next task.

I think it is great to reward yourself and take a break. It is possible to burn yourself if you never do this.

Lisa,
You hit the nail on the head with your response. Two things happen when we forget to take breaks or reward ourselves for even the smallest of victories.

1. We first off tend to lose motivation because we don't give ourselves the encouragement that we need to be able to stay the course
2. without breaks we can even run ourselves ragged sometimes even to the point of becoming sick.

So yeah that was a perfect response. Thanks for posting it.

I find that setting a reward incentivizes you to complete the task. It even seems to make it more enjoyable. If I finish the task list I've set for today, I'm going to take 3 hour break and go to see The Batman tomorrow.

That's a lot like how I see Phil. When I'm working on writing or any other task have something like a well deserved break really does help me and can help anyone to work joyfully to the end.
