My Pledge to My Network
I was at work last night and I got to thinking about some things. It's all well and good to post my articles on the comment request thread, but that only takes a person so far. At the end of the day you have to find a way to break past the ceiling to reach new heights.
It is with this in mind that I decided to take a different approach to building up comments on my articles. Now, I am sure this is not a revelation to most of the veterans here in WA, but it is a new approach to me, so I'm just going to run with it. I am going to limit my posts on the comment request thread and rely on my network to help me.
So, in this blog I am going to establish my pledge to my network as well as provide my expectations of those who I have in my network as well.
Pledge 1: I pledge to post at least one comment on at least one of each person's website that I am following.
Expectation 1: I expect the courtesy to be reciprocated. When you read my comment, it will be clear, concise and substantive. I expect the same in return.
Pledge 2: I will work to communicate with all of you as much as I can. There is only one of me and many of you, but don't worry, I will make the time to speak to as many of you (hopefully all of you) as I can.
Expectation 2: I don't know about you, but I am not a fan of being ignored. I'm not looking for a life story: a 5 minute response as to how your progress is going would more than suffice.
Pledge 3: If there is a way I can help, I will step up and provide that help as long as I am capable or knowledgeable in that area. If not, I will point you in the direction of someone who does.
Expectation 3: While I have not received this treatment, it is still something I will include. The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. So if my question comes off as something easy, don't make me feel like an idiot, just answer the question if you know.
Now, these are all pretty simple when you look at it. However, I think a lot of people don't understand the concept of networking. Networking with folks is a lot like having a relationship. It's a 2-way street, and the only way to solidify the foundation of such a relationship is solid communication.
Developing relationships on WA will prove to be critical in reaching the ultimate goal. You are creating connections with other people. The more you talk to one another, the more likely you will be to comment on each other's work, share each other's articles throughout social media, and even recommend each other's products to your respective friends and family!
I see some folks on here who have only been on for a month or so and they have more friends than some of the top members who have been here for years! I am being followed by 170+ people, and I am not looking to go too much higher than that for now, but let's put some perspective on that for a moment...
Let's say I talk to and develop a solid business relationship with 170 people, and I give a comment to each one of those people. Then those 170 people each place a comment on any article on my website...that 170 comments! All because I took the time to get acquainted with my network! That's huge, and that is only based off of one exchange! Imagine if I continued to build that bond...all of a sudden I am securing comments for future sites and my ability to get sites up and running and indexed on google suddenly becomes significantly easier because I no longer have to worry about where my comments are going to come from!
On the flip side, there will be those who do not choose to help or contribute the substantive interaction that is so vital to making a site legitimate down the road. I am going to be completely blunt...remove them from your network. You only want people in your network that are willing to give you as much as you give them and nothing less.
We are all here for the same reason: to reach to reach heights we never thought we could reach! Thank you for reading my pledge to my network. I want everyone to step up and make that pledge with me, regardless of whether you are in my network or not! Take care, stay blessed, and all the best to every one of you!
Sincerely,
Jorge

That is very kind of you and quite the undertaking Jorge hope it still leaves you time for your own work to, we do have a great community
Don't misinterpret the post for me devoting every hour on communicating with my network. What I am saying is I plan on devoting the necessary time on my work, but will communicate with my network when pursuing my feedback. At the same time, I will provide folks with feedback on their sites as well.
I totally appreciate the concern, and have every intention on focusing on me first. But I do want to develop a strong network at the same time and there are plenty of people - myself included - who have comment requests go unanswered. It's totally fine, but it also reminded me that there is a benefit to having a solid network in place.
This in no way means that I am no longer going to post on the comment request thread, but that I will only post there once and work my network from there.
your right I had visions of you slaving over the pc to go through every member in your network, I try and help others as much as I can and schedule time to interact on here, am a bit behind due to family emergency and getting ill , however I am working my way through, thank you take care have a great week

Hello Jorge, I know we can have 170 plus followers and recieve a hand full of likes on a post. It can be a bit disturbing when we put so much thought and effort into it but I look at it as the building blocks to where our future is headed. I just keep climbing believing it all will come together in perfect timing:) I try to help support by inspiring, and to touch as many lives as time will allow while working and learning and building. I wish us all success:)
I definitely hope everyone here succeeds as well. I also think that having a strong network can take a person much further than having a loaded network they don't use to their benefit. I am not disturbed when I don't get responses because I totally understand people are trying to get their sites going as well.
This blog post is more a product of me thinking about other ways outside of the advertised discussion threads that could be used to generate more comments on my site. That is when I decided that reaching out to people in my developing network would be an option worth looking into.
I get it, outside the box thinking, a strong network is important :)
