My 1 Month Progress at WA

I can't believe that it's been about a month since I signed up here at Wealthy Affiliate. A week into going through the lessons, I was already eager to quit my day job, working in the customer service / food industry and feeling used and like a slave. I quit that job 2 weeks after joining WA and have since been just working freelance, working on my niche website, and playing Skyrim because I "invested in myself" and bought a Playstation 4.

No money (yet)

I haven't made any money from my website yet, which is kind of depressing. I know that it's only been a month but I am READY to get some bags.

Good podcasts

I've been listening a lot to 2 podcasts on my commutes which really tie into the training at WA: The Blog Millionaire with Brandon Gaille and Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn. I know a lot of WA-ers have probably heard of these guys already but listening to them has really helped to keep up the momentum to continue working on my website. If you haven't checked out those podcasts yet, you really should give them a try!

Social media is spammy

This is the one part that I don't like. I feel like I am swimming in a sea of other people screaming to be heard #especially #on #Twitter, which I feel is the best social media channel for my niche (videography). Anyone have advice for avoiding this? It is so gross there right now and I don't really bother with it unless I have a new post to share.

Helping people

The greatest lesson that I learned and actually understand now is that the focus of my website and any niche website is to help people. I know that point was made in one of the lessons but it took a while for it to really sink in for me that we are in the business of helping people. It has really opened my eyes but it has also opened up more possibilities for new article ideas. Also, I feel like I have left the Matrix and can now see that like every website on the internet is doing that, or giving the illusion that it is. Deep.
