WA Progress December 2020
Good day, WA, community, friends, and newcomers. I trust everybody had a good festive season, and before I dig into this article, I want to wish everybody a prosperous 2021.
OK, let's get down to business. My last post was at the end of October, and the idea was to post an article every month about the progress that I'm making to get some feedback from the community.
That being said, in November, I did the Social Media modules, and just for the fun of it, I boosted two posts to see what the effect will. One on Pinterest and one on Facebook. Unfortunately, if I include November's numbers, I will give you skewed results, so I decided to stick it out through December, focus on organic traffic and see where that takes me.
Online Course
Around the 15th of December, I completed the Online Entrepreneurs course's last module and received my badge.
The experience was truly amazing, and I learned a lot, but I also realized how little I know about the world of online marketing and how much more there is to learn.
Articles Published and Articles Ranked By Google
I published 6 articles in December. This just article on my website and doesn't include this article I'm writing. Now I know some of you can publish more. I mention this number because I know there are many members from around the world where English is their second language.
English is my second language two, but more than that, my grammar and spelling sucked. It's still not at a level where I want it to be, but I'm getting there. When I joined WA, this was one of my biggest concerns. I am not a writer, and above that, I found it very hard to write as if I was talking to somebody.
The thing is, my first article took me over a week to write. With practice, it became easier, and I realized that I'm able to write 2 articles a week with ease at the end of December.
I hope this will serve as an inspiration to those who, like me, don't write in English naturally as many other members who speak English as their first language.
Google was kind enough to rank 7 of my articles during the course of December.
Everything Traffic
I'm ecstatic to report that December's organic traffic has risen by 307% compared to October's.
The number sounds good, but the reality is that it is still very little. My aim moving forward is to try and keep this momentum going into the following months. Suppose I can keep that momentum. Then in the following months, we will see an explosion in traffic.
That being said: I do have a question for the WA community. For you guys and girls who have been around for a bit and constantly seeing revenue, can you give me an idea of the average daily traffic you had before seeing any income?
The reason I'm asking, I have not yet had a sale. MY traffic is not big enough to provide me with meaningful data, where I can say I need to improve my conversation rates on those pages. But at some point, if the traffic to the website keeps increasing and I'm still not getting sales, I need to look at the content itself. I hope this makes sense.
Focus for January 2021
Keep writing 2 articles per week. Secondly, I am going to focus on Rolling out a Pinterest marketing plan.
I hope this helps some of the newcomers. When you start a blog, there is a lot of uncertainty about whether it will work or not. But if you look at it in perspective, you need to realize there is no quick fix. It's hard work, you will make mistakes, and that is ok. That's how you learn.
Keep well, everybody. Don't forget to leave me a comment down below.

Excellent post, John! I'm looking forward to seeing what the money maker's traffic looks like!
Happy 2021!
Jeff
I hope so. It does help if some seasoned members give us these little titbits for no other reason than to gauge if we are on the right track.
You have made great progress John and much to be proud of and very inspiring. Thank you for sharing your WA story this far. Wishing you continued and greater success in 2021 :)

The best answer I’ve found to your question is that you should try for 100 high quality keyword researched blog posts before starting to question if something is “wrong”.
Thank you for the answer, Stephanie, much appreciated.
