How To Rectify Image Problem On Pinterest

Hi Friends,

I had a really annoying problem on Pinterest, that I have found a solution for. I want to share and help anyone who may come across the same problem.

Due to it being Black Friday weekend, there is a lot of special offers, reduced prices etc, banding about. One of my affiliates emailed me, a vastly reduced price offer on a Hoverboard pictured inside an image. I am talking over £100 off list price, I added the image to one of my posts and shared on social media.

I went on my Pinterest account and tried to upload my post with this new image, but I got the "oops no image to upload". My website post address was correct, perhaps it is because I have already uploaded all images from this post before.

Plan B would have to be tried, I saved the image to my computer. Next I returned to my Pinterest account, this time chose to upload the image from my computer to Pinterest. Everything seemed to work fine, the image was there so I saved to my board. Going over to check my board, the IMAGE WAS BLANK but the relating text was showing fine.

When I return to my edit of this image, everything is showing properly including the troublesome image. I don't like asking our helpful members, until I have exhausted all avenues myself, I feel you learn more this way. Anyway I tried and tried and tried, by 2.00am UK time I gave up, blank image was still showing.

SOLUTION FOUND

Sunday morning arrives, after walking the dogs, hoovered up etc etc, it was 3.00pm UK time before I could get back on my computer. I had been racking my brains all morning, why am I getting a blank solid colour and no image, eventually i came up with a plan, will it work ??

I had a look at my social media plugin, social warfare, to find what size image they recommend for Pinterest. Now I have the Pinterest pixel size, I could put my plan into action and see if it works. The first thing I did is load Photo Editor Be Funky, which is a free website, I have it saved on my laptop. Then I clicked on upload image from computer, after locating my problem image, I loaded it on to Photo Editor Be Funky.

Next I clicked the resize button and un-ticked the Lock Aspect Ratio box so I could adjust the image size manually. I set the correct recommended Pinterest pixel size and re-ticked the Lock Aspect Ratio box to keep this new size fixed. On doing this the new image size was saved back to my computer.

Returning now to my Pinterest account, I uploaded the image again from my computer, all looked good in the edit section, but it looked good last night and the early hours of this morning. Anyway here goes again, I saved the image to my Pinterest Board, refreshed and checked on this board in question, the image was there at last showing beautifully in all its glory. No blank solid colour anymore.

The answer is, if you want to show an image on Pinterest and a blank solid colour displays, you must reduce the size. Even if it is showing in your edit screen, it wont show on your board.

I tried for an age last night and the early hours of this morning, with no solution. With a fresh clear head this afternoon I managed to sort it out in about 10 minutes. Sometimes a tired mind makes things worse, leave till the next day and it seems easierto think of fresh ideas to put right.
