Pop Ups vs. Sign Up Tabs
Hello community. I was wanting to express my opinion on pop ups and sign up tabs. I have only been doing this for about 6 months or so now. While I was building my sites out, I realized how annoying pop ups are to me. Then I thought that if they annoy me why would I put one on my site. So what I did is used SumoMe to put in some sign up tabs to get subscribers.
Seams to me they are less annoying and they are constantly there in the shadows waiting to be clicked. While someone is reading my post they are there not in the way but there for them to sign up. Another great addition I use for my E-mail list is Mail Chimp. It makes it easy for me to maintain my list and send out campaigns. I haven't done any campaigns yet but it will make it easy to do.
For anyone who is not there yet with sign up forms and E-mail campaigns, I just wanted to put this out there as an option but there are plenty others for you to chose from. These two just seem to work for me at this time. They are accessible through your plug ins ion the dashboard area. These plugins are a free plugin unless you want to upgrade. But the free versions supplies you with enough to build an E-mail list & a way to maintain them.
You can view how I incorporated the sign up tabs on my sites at these two site links. http://cyclingforfunwithron.com & http://dontbescammedsaysron.com.
I hope this was helpful to someone as I try to share some things that I run across while building out my sites.

Thanks. I like it also because it is always present and the visitor can decide when they want to act on it rather than just poking at them here and there.

Thanks for the helpful post. I'm still trying to set up my subscribe button. What plugin did you use for that?
This art live recommended SUMO. I just downloaded it from my dashboard free, so I'm going to give it a try to set up my Subscribe button too!
Thanks:)
