Going in a new direction!
I've loved the WA training so far...starting from scratch with a new website and going through the lessons, building up the site. I can't wait to finish!
I already had a photography/travel/sailing blog that I abandoned last year, before I started this training, so that I could just focus on the photography aspect of the website. I still had all of the content on WordPress, it was just hidden from the rest of my website. I simply just stopped blogging. This website included years of sporadic posts.
But the thing was, I already had a good rank in Google, I had a good following, and the site still always has decent traffic even without SEO. Why didn't I just try monetizing this site to begin with?
So I brought back the blog, redesigned my site, and am going through old posts with slight rewrites to better SEO and add affiliate links. This'll take a while but it beats writing new content and trying to get ranked!
I'll still work on the new site that I started through with this training, but first I'm going to monetize an already (slightly) popular site.

Thanks for the captcha advice - I've had pretty good luck with Akismet but I went ahead and installed the captcha plugin recommended by WA. Can't have enough protection from the spammers!
