DIY - Do It Yourself
I love building stuff but it gets me into a whole heap of trouble with friends and family. My latest project - double built in wardrobes has taken considerably longer to complete than my original one week estimate. Four times as long in fact and it's way over budget. Even the dog is fed up with the noise, the dust, the smell of new paint and the lack of regular walks. The problem is I overestimate my own abilities. I am not a professional builder, just an over enthusiastic amateur, but the truth is I don't care, I love the challenge, the problem solving, doing something practical and saving a ton of cash.
I am hoping to transfer some of this enthusiasm to Wealthy Affiliate. I am sure my family will appreciate it as it seems to be a much more civilised activity. Is DIY a suitable niche I wonder? I am sure I'm going to find out as I work through this fantastic training.

Hi John.
There is definitely demand for a site on DIY, so it is definitely a possible niche, especially if you narrow it down to something like 'DIY projects'. But whether it's a good niche for you will probably depend on how well you can explain things step by step and either take good photographs or show how to do things on a video or draw sketches. Or, if you've already taken the trouble to find the best books etc. you could concentrate on reviewing those and recommending them.
There are so many possibilities. Just follow the training and pick something that you will enjoy!!!

Don't get stalled on choosing a niche, because it slows you down in moving forward. Throw more ideas out to the community so they can help you get going. How is your training going? Tina
Thanks Tina, I love your website and the basic humanity and passion it exudes. You are right I shouldn't take too long to choose a niche. Trouble is I've got too many interests/diversions. You would have loved today Tina. I had a new fuel pump to install on my little home built plane and then I took her up for a test flight. It was one of those crisp early winter days with huge cumulonimbus clouds to the west and crystal clear air. I could have stayed up there forever.
But hey back to the studying. I've just completed lesson two and I'm on a roll. This really is brilliant stuff!

When you ask about DIY. Are you thinking of creating multiple building ideas/projects? In a business you should think about providing a service, product and solution.

Thank you for the welcome Tina and the useful advice. I think the term wardrobe is probably unique to the UK. My passions get me into all sorts of trouble but hey ho life's for living.
DIY is a bad weather activity for me. On fine days I like to get out and about, flying, boating and hill walking.
What sort of business are you in Tina? I'd love to hear how you are getting on.
