Spend AI Credits Wisely: Draft ? Humanize ? Polish
When I first got my 10,000 AI Credits at Wealthy Affiliate, I felt rich. It was like someone had handed me a big sack of seeds and said, “Go plant.”
But here’s the truth: seeds don’t feed you until you plant them wisely. Same with AI Credits. You can burn through them in a weekend, generating endless drafts you’ll never use, or you can spend them strategically; turning each credit into real, living content that grows your business.
Step 1: Draft (Plant the Seed)
Use AI to break the curse of the blank page. Drop in your keyword, outline, or topic idea, and let the AI generate a first draft.
This draft is not your final post; it’s your seed. It gives you structure, ideas, and raw words you can shape.
When I first tried this, I generated an article in 5 minutes that would’ve taken me hours. The relief was like rain after a drought.
Step 2: Humanize (Add Your Voice)
Here’s the danger: if you publish the AI draft as-is, your readers will feel it. It’s like serving plain porridge; filling, but tasteless.
This is where you step in. Add your voice. Tell a story. Insert that joke only you would make. Connect it to your life.
For me, I often sprinkle in lessons from South Sudan; like how a family wedding reminds me of internal linking, or how buying maize by the sack is like yearly pricing. Those are touches AI can’t replicate. But I also realize you can feed these into your AI tool, and it can help, over time. But you got the point. Your voice matters.
Humanizing turns the machine’s draft into your message.
Step 3: Polish (Make It Shine)
Now polish. Fix grammar, tighten sentences, and check SEO basics.
This is where you use tools inside WA (like SiteFeedback or Grammarly) to refine the article. The goal is to make your piece sound smooth, trustworthy, and professional.
By the time you’re done, the draft has transformed from seed → story → publication-ready content.
Why This Matters
AI Credits aren’t infinite. Even Premium Plus+ members with 30,000 credits need to spend them with care.
- If you only draft, you waste potential.
- If you only humanize without a draft, you waste time.
- If you only polish without a human voice, you waste trust.
The winning formula is all three: Draft → Humanize → Polish.
A Lesson from Life
In the village, we didn’t eat raw grain. We planted it, harvested it, cooked it, and then served it. That process turned seeds into meals.
Your AI Credits are seeds. Use them wisely, and they’ll feed your site for years.
🔥 Pro Tip: Don’t measure AI by how many words it generates. Measure it by how much published content it helps you create. Published work builds traffic. Drafts left in your folder do not.
Spend wisely, plant deeply, harvest fully. That’s how you turn AI Credits into income.

Hi John
This is very good advice 'Don’t measure AI by how many words it generates. Measure it by how much published content it helps you create. Published work builds traffic'
Traffic is the life blood of an online business, got to keep that flow going.
Thanks for sharing ^_^ Cheers
Yes, Paul, and thanks for reading and the feedback. It helps me learn so I could also write for myself and others.
Hey John, how's your day coming along. I trust that all is well. Thanks for responding ^_^ Cheers
May day, (night now) was good. Lots of rest and now work. I'm getting creative with AI, where I could turn fiction into memoir and vice versa. Love it!
This is such a helpful breakdown! I love the analogy of AI credits as seeds — it really drives home the idea of using them strategically. Draft → Humanize → Polish is a simple but powerful process. Thanks for sharing this, definitely something I’ll keep in mind when using my credits!
Thanks, Monica. Yes, that's what these credits are; seeds. Let's plant, water, and see them germinate, sprout, grow, and produce fruit in many forms.
Burning through credits is so easy. When I renewed, I started with my logo. I could not get what I wanted. I wasted so many credits trying to get what I wanted. I knew I was not being specific enough. Being new, it took awhile. I ended up with about 16 different logos I will never use. BUT--- I did FINALLY get close to what I wanted. I think I burned through 3/4 of my credits! I was pretty upset, but I just had to write it off to a learning experience! Now I am more careful. I use mine mostly for outlines/articles now. I can do pictures in Canva or use my own. But, even at that, 10,000 credits goes pretty fast. I have finally learned to be more specific and more careful. I did buy a bundle last week when Kyle offered a deal. So now I have a lot to work with for this month.
Good to know. Yes, learning is part of the journey, a very important part. Now, you know how to prompt better, and that's experience. Going forward, you can create better images with the first prompt, and that matters. Congrats for buying more credits. I didn't buy. I have more as a Premium Plus+ member for now each month. I never thought of being at this tier, but here we are!
When I started Bootcamp, I also wasted a lot of credits on a logo. I too simply put it down as a lesson learned, experience gained, and moved on. I do not intend to buy any AI credits. I can go to several different AIs to get content drafts, outlines, images etc. And I have been fortunate that I won a couple of challenges and got extra credits, and got extra credits when Kyle was promoting the Image Studio.
Happy for you that you managed to go Premium Plus Yearly - it will help with AI credits every month...
Wise words, John. As a premium member I only get 10,000 AI credits a month and I do try to use them wisely. In my case I use them for images first and with what I have left at the end of the month I create drafts which I then turn into posts. I can sometimes get two or three posts out of one AI draft by adding my own story and experience.
Good to know. I have more than that now, but I still finish them fast without planning, sometimes. I also use them for images and Jaaxy AI research work, not so frequent for now as I focus on working on my books.
My focus this year is traffic to my website, but I realized I need to work on my books, both old and new. There are a few things I need to fix. Not sure how long this will take.

Love this analogy.
Draft → Humanize → Polish is such a clear way to think about AI credits.
This really helps beginners avoid wasting time and trust.
Thanks, Peter. Let's keep at it.
