Best of Posts - The Best Number for your blog article title
"Best Of.." Posts are hugely popular.
You look all over Google, Pinterest, even our Jaaxy keyword tool in the Alphabet Soup lists them.
Why are lists posts so popular?
Our brains are organized to function in specific ways and we prefer ordered lists.
"Top 3.." is popular
"Top 5..." is a the second most useful number, according to research
"7 best...." I've noticed is popular on Pinterest
Prime numbers are higher converting you see...Then we oftern see...
"Top 10.../10 Tips...." Also common in blogs is and is widely considered the best number to use.
"15 best..." Another one, but beware the teenagers betwen 13 and 19 don't do very well.
Then you get to "Top 20, 50, 100 etc". Loads of these on Google and Pinterest.
Other tips
1. Wacky numbers don’t really make a difference - you see loads of them like 47 etc
2. Oh, and the numeral is far more popular than the word. So go for 5.. rather then five..
Your experience
My draft post has "18 best..." 2 are slightly different offerings so what would be higher converting so based on the research the best options are to really prune to "Top 10" and a second choice would be to push out to "20 best".
What's the best number for "best of" posts? So the highest converting from a readers point of view in your experience? Feel free to share in the comments below

Personally, I like these random wacky numbers but apparently the teenagers 12-19 are not good converting. Thanks!
I saw a Pinterest Pin 49... and 77... just today!
My "5 best ___" post has been doing pretty well. But then I guess it's because my site is about books and 5 is a pretty common number seen in sites that post about them.
Great! Thanks for sharing. 5 is the 2nd most common number and gives the reader (pun intended) less choice to choose from than say 10. So that sounds like great common sense to me. 10 books is probably too many for most people to read.

I like reading best of 5... not too many choices... just right
Great! The number 5 surprised me! I thought 3 or 7 were better numbers but no, the research shows 5 is the best prime number, only topped by Top 10
Thanks for chiming in, I'll have to use 5 in future
