Learning the World of E-commerce

Over the past month I have been actively learning a new area of online business: e-commerce. For many years I have been involved in web design and blogging, but have never been active in e-commerce. I was looking for some extra work in December and came across someone looking for help with filling orders for his established e-commerce site. Eventually, my abilities were realized and I am now in the throws of marketing and SEO development.
This has been a new experience for me, but one I am sincerely excited about. I have learned much about e-commerce websites and about general SEO practice. Each day I am learning new things and working to increase web traffic on the store site. I hope to share some of these lessons soon in forthcoming posts. My wife is also considering beginning an e-commerce business with her sister in which I will have opportunity to invest the lessons I've been learning in an endeavor even closer to home!
My encouragement is to never stop learning and don't pass up anything which may prepare you for a future opportunity to use the lessons you've learned. Many of the skills I've learned over the past years have been invaluable in this new opportunity!
