Google's Rolodex Name Warning

Google's Rolodex Name Warning

I've been indexed by Google. I think it means they know what they are doing better than I do.

This is almost my true story: (The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Me of course.)

Name Warning

On a street, where the speed is limited to 30 mph the police stop a driver.

"Not only have you been driving too fast, you've been passing cars where it is not allowed. Your lights don't work, your tires all completely worn out. This is surely going to cost you a lot. What's your name?"

"Schtrathewisizeski Vocgefastilongchinic."

"Well, I'll let you go this time but don't do it again."

I was only going slightly over the speed limit last night about 10 PM. I was in a bit of a hurry because I had just left a party and I really needed to ... get home.

I had expired plates. But fortunately the new plate and registration was on the seat right by me because I had only just renewed it yesterday. But of course the Officer made me sit there for 10 minutes while he ran the old invalid one. So he thought he had me cold. But after I diddled there a while and got him sorted, he let me go with a verbal warning.

Which brings me to my point here.

Google doesn''t care what your name is. They don't have to say it. They can read (and remember) long lines of hideous code.

But the people who Google for your content need your name to be something easy to remember and spell. My website name is longer than I would have liked but it is easy to remember.

Google knows where I am now but that doesn't mean anyone else will.

I notice in meta tags and keywords that websites will also include a few common misspellings for people like me who never won the spelling bee. And then there's that ever helpful auto correct (but we won't get into that)

I'm better with vocabulary than spelling. Writing poetry makes that necessary. Google and I know a LOT of words. Over 600,000 words, although. I'm not sure what percentage of that actually mine.

Earl Nightingale said, "Our use of the English Language is the one thing we can't hide."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cl2d8_fHwUo Worth listening to if you can spare 16 minutes.

I'm in the process of learning a new language: Wealthy Affiliate. It is whole new vocabulary.

Please be patient with me. Thank you.
