You can do that. You can work on a siterubix subdomain and ask site support to transfer it.
However, I suggest you add content to the URL immediately. It takes time for the website and posts to get indexed and later ranked in the search engines.

I would do as Abie suggests; I would not have anything in maintenance mode. If your site is Joetrevors.com I would create a joetrevors@siterubix.com Work on that and when you are ready move the siterubix to your domain and in the future carry out test on site rubix

Less than 12hrs after producing my first post (WA Review), Twitter notified me that I'd been mentioned in a tweet. Turns out it was a 'daily' in a neighboring province that had
Twitter is not my 'thing' so I can't help you to replicate that but couldn't pass by without saying well done! :)

Article is on their site, but one of their means of communicating when the dialy is out, is Twitter (as well as FB, etc.). I suspect there must be an automated search engine that smaller Provincial/State publications like theirs uses to gather up articles?
Will research it more, but certainly not meaning to 'look a gift horse in the mouth', right? ;)
