Why don't more people blog on WA?
In one word... Fear!
- I'm new... will I be accepted?
- I don't speak much English.
- My grammar is terrible!
- I'm not a writer.
- People will make fun of my writing.

Let's deal with the issues now:
- Everyone was new! Everyone started as a newbie.
- Many people don't have English as a mother tongue.
- Write your blog in "Google Translate," Then copy and paste it into the blog template.
- Only by studying and writing will your grammar get better.
- Few, if any of us were writers when we began. It is developed. Just write!
- No one will make fun of you. If they do tell me. I am meaner than a junkyard dog!
Let me finish with a quote from my favorite, Mark Twain:
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
Let me set the record straight... you're on your way to being great!
Joe

Good points, Joe. Schools don't spend much time on composition any more and it's a shame. People don't learn how to put thoughts together, and then there's the grammar thing. But grammar checks are built into everything we write here at WA, which is a big help.
The main thing to do is just put your thoughts down, then go back and move things around until it says what you want it to say.
The computer is a wonderful tool and so much easier than the old typewriter.
Hi Joe,
I've read posts written by members who are weak in English as they have a different native language. One of their concerns is how to write grammatically correct content for their website.
Your suggestions here are spot on. Perhaps they can preface their WA post saying they are weak in English and are practicing. They can also ask for suggestions to improve their grammar.
Well done Joe.
Edwin
Great post, Joe. #7 for me would be unforeseen life circumstances getting in the way. When I write, I am totally immersed in the process and enjoyment and do not want to stop to eat, answer the phone, or be bothered by anyone until I am finished (or at least at a stopping place that makes sense). Sometimes I stay up all night when I am on a roll, or in a writing frenzy. (Your choice of description here!)
At the moment I am too busy juggling too many balls to have the time and energy to dedicate to what I really want to be doing. One could say that is an excuse, but I haven't found a way to carve out even one uninterrupted hour at this point. Too much going on in my personal life at the moment.
Once we find a house and get moved and settled, I will have my own office, can close the door, and avoid distractions until I decide to surface for air! Until then, I have to squeeze in a few minutes as I can, frustrating though it may be!

Hi Joe,
For me is not a matter of fear, but more of setting priorities, having a day job ,and working part time on my online business, I prefer to write for my business foremost, hence I only have 30 WA posts. And 70 plus on my website in being here for already 6 months.
You’re doing what works best for you.
Joe
