On course.on glide path
Those are beautiful words to a pilot making an instrument landing.
I'm a pilot. There are many times I have approached an airport for landing when the weather was bad...cloud base was very low...lot of fog...nighttime...couldn't see the runway.
Talking with the radar controller and he was guiding us in for a landing on radar. To hear those words brought a reassurance to us...on course, on glide path!
There have been times here at WA when I was in a fog!
- I couldn't see where I was going...actually, I was lost.
- Confused over the lessons and just couldn't get past it.
- Website wasn't producing anything.
- I wanted to hear those words...on course, on glide path!
- Then I came across a post of encouragement from one of our members...
- On course...on glide path. My confidence came back, my blood pressure recovered!

If you haven't faced that yet, you will!
- You can't find the money for the membership fee.
- The lessons are just too complicated.
- Building the website is just hopeless.
- Making any money is a far distant pipe dream.
- Then you'll see a post...a ray of hope lights up!
- By golly, I'm going to do this!
On course...on glide path.
When I lived in England several years ago, I had a friend who came from the States and was speaking to a group of ladies about courage. He commented that the government was so good they posted signs everywhere "Take Courage".
When I told him that Courage was a beer in England he almost fainted!
You'll get back on course...take courage!

'Courage' there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Now under the umbrella of Marston's I believe.
For a while I lived in Isleworth which was only a few miles from Heathrow. On a clear day you could see all the 'Jumbo's' stacked up, as they made their way to the airport. That was also back when Concorde was doing its rounds, twice a day, it was an unmistakable sound.
There was a thick mist this morning, which cleared to allow bright sunshine this afternoon.
I think you just have to trust that you will find the 'glide path'
Sublime as always Joe.
I traveled through Isleworth many times. I lived in Farnham Common so saw the Concord go out every day at noon. Actually rode her both ways. No bird like her tragic ending.
Thanks
Joe
Rode in the cockpit on the way back from NY one night with Capt Britain (unique name). I told him I watched the Concorde fly over Farnham AF base. He asked if I enjoyed it? I said I did. He replied:
“Got me arse reamed over that”!
Joe, you have a wonderful catalogue of life stories. I'd happily share a seat on your porch for as long as you'd be happy to tell them. I'd ask first, of course.
Good to hear those obstacles that were encountered and were overcome with the help of someone. I love the company of our community. It puts us back on course when we seem to go stray.
Admirable post. Thanks for sharing. To your continuing success, Cheers!
Great respect for a pilot's trust in the team and the technology that assists a blind landing! That's sometimes what we need to apply here for sure at WA - trust in the team and all the resources we have to leverage. thanks Joe!
So much technology now days. They don’t use radar much anymore for landings as they have instruments and computers. That’s how it was in my day. So, today we take advantage at of the technology here at WA.
Thanks John
Joe
Thank you for the motivating post. I'm actually having some financial issues; my grandmother passed away, so that is a huge expense. I may have to cut off my premium membership fee for a while until I get my finances in order.
I'm also feeling like I'm having brain fog again, and I keep getting negative feedback from people around me... "You know that making money online is a hoax", etc. I'm learning how to block that negativity out, but it gets exhausting after a while.
Please feel free to give me any guidance to keep me on the positive track. I may be posting a blog her shortly to share my concerns with our wonderful WA community.
Best,
Vianca
Vianca, so sorry to hear about your grandmother and the financial strain. I do know about all the naysayers who will try to sidetrack you and stop you.
It is difficult to give advice other than to tell you if you can find the money to stay with Premium and follow the lessons, it will pay off.
You are doing a great job with turning off the negative talk, so just keep after that. Lots of great people here who I am sure will offer some ideas.
Joe
I have also been through complicated situations we must have enough courage and face them. Thank you!
I don't want to be intoxicated with courage. Seriously, we have been on the same footing! But we do something about it, no matter how small it might be, we will carry on and see both of us on top of this journey of our own version of El Dorado. Your courage and skills as a Pilot can be transferred here at the WA in the same way but in different forms. We can do it, Joe.
