Am I behind the airplane?

Airplanes travel through the air fast!

  • We are trained as pilots to think ahead of the airplane.
  • Keep your mind 10 minutes ahead of where you are.
  • Think where you will be in the next 10 minutes and be prepared for it.

We keep saying, it's a journey... not a sprint.

  • Think... I know that's scary and hard to do, but THINK!
  • Where do I want to be at WA... don't get behind the airplane.
  • What do I want to accomplish at WA?
  • Build a website?
  • Rank high at WA?
  • Go to Vegas?
  • Make lots of money
  • Do I have a clue where I am, where I'm going, or how I'm going to get there?

Oh yeah, there will be plenty of them!

  • Plan for them. Think ahead of the airplane.
  • Drives my wife crazy... she's a Georgia Peach... a southern belle... laid back... turtle.
  • I'm the rabbit... always ahead of the curve... car running, waiting for her to come.
  • Ahead of the airplane... sometimes causes problems, but keeps me out of trouble too.

Right now, this very moment, before you ride off into the sunset, think what you're doing! STOP... write down your goals... plan what you want here at WA

Enjoy the journey.

That was a great journey, thank you Joe. Sounds a bit like riding a mountain bike, always look at the trail ahead, never down at your front wheel.

I typically go with the flow, Joe--too much long term planning in my OPINION sometimes can be stressful and end up being for naught. We might not even BE here tomorrow, so I try to live for each day and wake up every morning, God willing. After I almost died in surgery four years ago, it made me think hard about this. I'll not spend to much time planning every detail of my day / life, because that's when the 'wild pitch' comes and derails event he best laid plans. I always try to improvise and overcome--and of course a LITTLE planning. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your post as usual!

Jeff, great reply. Everyone has to do what works for them. My memory is not good enough to try to wing it. I appreciate your thinking and certainly agree with you.
Joe

Thank you, Joe!
