Another beautiful day in paradise
I am reaching out to the WA Community ..
When someone says to me: "How's it going" , oh "How are you doing" , My response, reflecting one of my affirmations, is always: "Another beautiful day in Paradise"
Yesterday I said that to a Dear Friend, and she fealt that it was extremely cynical .. and, or sarcastic.
Am I simply naiive, or am I mis-quoting my feelings :
That since my life has been wonderfully Blessed (regardless of many trials and challenges) and I honestly feel that today is a Beautiful day (that much of the world would consider to be in Paradise).
Again .. am I mis-stating my affirmation?
Thoughts and opinions appreciated.
Thank Y'all
Joe

When I wake up in the morning still breathing and still in possession of 2 of everything I'm supposed to have 2 of, I'm thankful.
Even though I'm not where I want to be quite just yet in terms of goals to be achieved, I'm in a far better situation than probably 90% of the Worlds population who have things like poverty, war, high crime levels, natural disasters and political / religious oppression to contend with.
So yes, it's another good day in paradise. We should always count our blessings because having everything we need comes before having everything we want at the end of the day.
Thanks for a very thoughtful post, Joe.
Cheers
Rich :-)
I've had something similar happen, Joe. If you said it with a smile, it is more a reflection of where they are in mindset than where you are.
Here's to more days in Paradise!!

If that is how you feel, it's a wonderful statement. Just continue being you, clearly happy in your life.
Maybe your friend really doesn't know you or is confused by that statement. She could have asked you "What do you mean by that? or "Why would you say that?"
If saying that statement makes you feeling positive or good, etc. then remain with it. Stay true to who & what you are! Either people will either accept you or not.
My “Friend” was the BFF of my youth, and “My High School Sweetheart” - that I have just recently re-connected with (after almost 56 years)

So Of Course, She really doesn’t Know the 21st Century Me at all.
We are finding that we still have A LOT in common, even after half a century and many MANY Miles apart, and this one thing is not really “A Thing”, but it struck me oddly.
Not at all. Most of the people that respond as your friend did, never take the time to be thankful for their Blessings along with their Tribulations, but only see their tribulations.

Negative people always react negatively. Remember this: when the big dog goes by the little dogs bark! Ignore them.

I think you are right in what you say, I am the same, every morning i getup I think what a fantastic day. I leave it up to the others to do the moaning, I live part of my time in Thailand, the expats wouldn’t know what to do if they didn’t have a moan, and there it is paradise. Its my belief that if you took care of their needs, put them in paradise they would still moan. It would be too good lol.
