Presidential Debate

I was thinking would websites about presidential debates make a good niche? I know it wouldn't be a long term site, but there would certainly be a lot of traffic now. Additionally, there wouldn't be a lot of products you could review for affiliate referrals so how would you make money? Would it all be through Google ads? Any other methods?

Why not, as long as you are sufficiently interested, you could build in previous presidential debates and reference other candidates and winners going back decades.

Think of the runners and riders, the Kennedys, Bush's, the actor, the peanut farmer...the mob etc etc...you could build a huge authority site and get great traffic over the next 14 months and beyond.

You'd never run out of material or points of reference and think of the huge authority sites you could link to, the mind boggles!

You're welcome Joe, good luck if you decide to go for it.

Could you sell bunting or badges etc.? Or maybe you could tie up with a company that is producing products related to the election.

On a more flippant note, did you know that I was considering running?

See my post: Good luck with your project Joe,

Roger

Hi Roger... I like your blog! I think you should make a run for it!

My original idea behind a website like presidential debate came from reading about Kim Kardashian's wedding. A site like this I wouldn't really want to sell a product. I think it would take away from the concept I was going for. I was thinking more of a news/review site. But, just curious about different ways of making money from those types of sites.

I would back off on this one ... unless you have an idea to monetize it between election seasons. Way too much work for such a small slice of time to monetize.

Why not? I would think it might be pretty competitive, but if done right, it could sure attract a whole lot of attention!
My first thought would be an Amazon link. I would think there would be good paraphernalia on that subject.
Go for it.
Good luck!

I just went and had a quick look on Amazon. I see presidential coins, books and I bet there is plenty more. And once they click on your link, who knows what else in Amazon will tempt them :-) I say go for it if it is a subject you feel you can be an authority in.

Could be difficult to monetize I think. And Google Adwords doesn't bring in a lot of revenue. You need relevant products or programs to promote.
