Back Up Your Hard Drive, Well Only If You Really Have to.:

Last Friday after publishing another post on my website i decided it's about time to update my software into OS 10.11 El Capitan. I had my macbook pro for 5 years, and did not have any issues with it. The only thing was it was starting to become very slow...

So i downloaded the application on internet, and the installation started, but never finished...:) For entire 3 days it kept freezing, and all the experts on the internet said it is a pretty normal thing sometimes the update takes up to 16 hours, and if you interrupt you have to start again... I was frustrated but there was nothing i could do about it. They said wait and see... Plus it was a bank holiday weekend in Ireland, and the irish do take bank holidays very seriously, everything is really closed!

Finally, Yesterday i went to the local repair shop just to find out i need a new hard drive, as it was seriously damaged, and they could not retrieve any of my data. And, no i did not back it up before deciding to upgrade my software, well i did have some things saved on dropbox but not recently.

However, i do live by two things:

1. You are exactly where you are supposed to be.
2. Everything is always working out to me.

The truth is when i switched my carrier path two years ago i have never deleted files and projects that i worked on, and i knew i will never need them, but for some reason i was holding on to them, 'just in case'... Like all of us have clothes in our wardrobes that we have not worn for few years, but maybe one day...:) Or a garage/shed is filled with things that we hope that one day we will definitely use that particular item...:) So for me it was like a 'Spring Cleaning'. I finally let the good go, so something better can be saved on my laptop...:)

Another interesting take away, that i got from this experience is how much i learned here with WA in just a month! Before people who can fix computers, in my eyes were like Gods, like Mozart or Beethoven... Because they know everything. So i had a chit chat with the owner, and he was telling me about the new website that he just built for his shop three months ago. I assumed he is really good, and he is and yes his website does look beautiful. But when i was in the library waiting for my laptop, i could not resist the temptation to check on how 'healthy' his website is...:)

So i went to www.siteprice.org and entered his details. Now i only use this site for troubleshooting (it gives SEO Checker and SEO Analyzer Report), in other words a list of Critic Things to Fix immediately (in Red colour), warnings to fix in time (in Yellow colour) and subjects that are ok (in Green colour). And my own website has 5 critic things to fix, and his website had 7 critic things to fix...:) And my site is only a month old. When i returned to him i showed him the site about SEO checker, because he fixed my laptop in an hour instead of 2 days. So i wanted to return a favor.

And you know what i could see he did not understand some things there. He asked me 'what is wrong with my meta tag description?' My point is that i am no better then this guy in any way. But here at WA i did get some really valuable info and understanding about keywords, SEO and rankings already. I know more then some people around me (even it does not feel that way).

As a business consultant and a marketing strategist, i already see how much i could help any business owner with online presence...:) So there is a pretty good niche to get involved with the local marketing to all of you out there...:) As you definitely know more then some 'experts'.
