1 - My W.A. Goals and Milestones

Foreword:

I have spent the better half of 10 years researching, attempting, and studying Online Marketing (let's call it OM for short), only to either be swindled, disappointed, upsold to some $5,000 "Master Course" after already paying a $50+ membership fee and getting none of what was advertised to me... and so on. I could basically write a book about all the different self-proclaimed "Gurus" (Tai Lopez anyone?) and affiliate "mastermind" courses that have either left me standing with my pants at my ankles and my nethers in the cold wind, or conned me out of quite a bit of money (the worst being over $1,000).

I am not gullible, at least I like to think i'm not. Truth is, despite my 10 years of disappointments I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. This, however, will be my final attempt. I have chosen to end my 10 long years of trying to learn the ins and outs of OM with WealthyAffiliate. I have come here with high hopes, and so far (into lesson 3 now), I have not been disappointed. This may finally be what i've been searching for: a no-bs, no up-sell high quality and direct answer to what i've been trying to learn.

With that said, I have decided on the following goals and milestones, as well as the detailed reasons behind each - so that I not only have a goal in mind, but everyone can hold me accountable for reaching these goals. If I do not reach these goals, I welcome you to ask me why. Make me think about it, and make me try harder. IF I do reach these goals, then perhaps they can be an inspiration to others that have faced similar difficulties that I have.

Without further ado, I present to you my monthly goals for half a year:

1. Month 1 - Earn at LEAST $60 USD (or ~6,600 JPY) in the first month.
1. My reason for this goal is simple - to cover the monthly cost of premium membership. I am a husband and father of two. My wife is kindly staying at home to care for our new-born son, but is currently not qualified to receive maternity leave compensation, which helped us substantially when we had our first son. My paycheck (and our savings) currently pays for everything - and I make less than 25k a year. We are barely scraping by after bills. My long winded point to this is - I'm practically broke after bills.
2. Month 2 - Increase monthly income to $100+ USD (~10,000 JPY)/ month
1. At this point I will start re-investing my profits back into my business
2. I will also treat my wife and oldest son to a nice steak restaurant to celebrate my 7th year of living in Japan, as well as our 4th anniversary.
3. Month 3 - Double the monthly income to at LEAST $200+ USD (~20,000 JPY)/ month
1. By month 3, I will begin saving 50% of the income towards getting my official business operation license in Japan. This carries a pricetag of nearly 500,000 JPY ($4,500-5,000 USD equivalent), plus financial advisor and lawyer fees.
4. Month 4 - Reach a minimum of $500 USD (~50,000 JPY)/ month
1. By this goal, I plan to purchase a new Notebook computer that will be dedicated strictly to my businesses.
2. I also want to launch my first E-learning course for teaching basic level English (for Japanese students). The extra income will allow me to purchase a premium membership for the e-learning platform.
5. Month 5 - Reach between $750-1,000 USD (~75,000 - 100,000 JPY)/ month
   
1. With this goal, I will have paid off the new laptop. If not, then by the next month.
6. Month 6 - SURPASS $1,000 USD (~ 100,000 JPY) per month
   
1. At this point, I will reinvest into the business once again.
2. I will also start putting $100 towards each of my sons' college savings accounts per month.
   

My milestones are mostly mentioned above, but for clarification, these are the milestones I will aim to reach:

1. Milestone 1 - Earn a minimum of $60/mo in the first month, then upgrade to WA premium.
2. Milestone 2 - Earn a minimum $100/mo and reinvesting into the business.
3. Milestone 3 - Earn a minimum of $500/mo, purchase Notebook PC dedicated to business
   
4. Milestone 4 - Reach $1000/mo
