My thoughts, so far.
It's tough starting an online business. Of course I never expected it to be easy.
There are times when I feel as though I am untouchable and then I get thrown back into 'reality' as I realise I have much to do and learn...
I was wondering, if any of the more senior/experienced members here have thought about packing it in, if so, why and also what stopped you?

Never thought about packing it in at all, but then again, I started back in the 90s when there wasn't a whole lot of competition. I don't know how I'd feel about it starting out in this environment.

I've been here for 10 months now and not once have I ever contemplated "packing it in".
For me it takes time to build anything, if it were a conventional business and I set a goal of "breaking-even" in the first 2 years, then I'd be doing very well. So it's no different to my online business. And if you look at those online marketers that are successful, it's taken them years. So, I intend to do the same thing ... I'm here for the long haul.
