Some might think that their is no great benefits to lowering their ranking score here on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, I would have to disagree. There is a reason why ranking matters to me. Even though ranking has its ups and downs.

The main reason why ranking matters to me would be all the great people I have the opportunity to engage with. People from all over the world and everyone with their own goals and ambitions , that they are trying to accomplish.

Second is that as you build up your network here (lowering your rank) it gives you the ability to be seen and noticed by more people. Some that might have the same ideas as yourself and some that will have you considering things that you had never dreamed of.

Third would be for me , that it's encourages me to write more post like this building my own skills (also lowering my ranking and growing my network) .

I can see how some people think that ranking don't matter. Maybe You believe why do it if their is no money involved. That's not how I see it at all. I see it as, in the long run that their will be money involved because it opens the door to more paths to earn. By Improving my skills .

This is why ranking matters to me. Tell me how ranking has helped you in a comment below.

Thanks for reading I'm at 225 working on my top 200 badges getting a little closer every day.

I agree with your reasoning. Even though I am not actively pursuing greater strides with ranking, it does show what I have (hopefully) accomplished in helping others and networking.

I call this my "friendly social media"--it's all focused on our WA world, of course, but with a personal touch (discussing our pets, kids, etc--but not digressing too far). And during this crazy life in 2020, that can be a nice relief!

I like that ((my friendly social media)) it’s very enjoyable all the people we meet here and all we learn from each other on top of the training , and unlike some social platforms there’s no drama.
It was great to here from you Diane.

Jack.

Yes, I am thankful for the rules set that keep us focused on helping one another, rather than creating drama.

Have a great day!
Diane

Thanks for sharing Jack. Rankings may rise and fall but it what motivates us that matters the most. They joy of helping (if that's your motive) can be very rewarding (the cake) and the falling rank that my come as a result, simply a bonus (cherry on top).

We are Blessed.

Hey Jack, I became an Ambassador here within my first three months, and to be honest, it was too quick. I still have businesses outside of WA to run and my PM's are currently up to 51, which I keep trying to get lower, but they only increase. Reply to one and receive two more type thing :-) I'm not complaining, I love it here, but being in the top ranks and being visible isn't always a good thing unless you can devote 24 hours a day to helping other members ;-) Be careful what you wish for :-) But I agree, money isn't everything and I wish you every success :-)

That sound like it would be to quick . I’m more like a crawler . But helping others also helps motivate myself . We all have to learn to walk before we can run . And your doing great I’ve read some of your post there very good .

Jack, what asuper post. I also believe that ranking matters, it shows that I am getting involved with WA and the community, in addition to working on my business.
Regards
Stuart

Well you do an excellent job . I read your post daily, some are very inspiring to me and others help me understand how to achieve my goals. Thanks.

Hey Jack!

I am rather new here at WA, but I can see what you mean. The ranking within WA has been extremely motivating. However, I believe that if you truly engage in the community and invest time in your online business, then your ranking will start to lower on its own.

I do agree that keeping an eye on it will help with your motivation, but I don't think you need to worry as much about the number on your rank as you worry about being present and active in WA.

I mean that lowering your rank by leaving comments on every single post out there without even reading the post is not really engaging. Thankfully, I have seen very few members who engage in this kind of behavior which is what makes this community so great.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts,

Majo

I understand I have been a member going on two years now . I’m now finding it easier to build my sites and write content the more that I engage with the community. I agree that if you leave a comment you should read the post that’s true . But those that don’t are only hurting themselves from learning more.

Certainly, Jack! The only ones that end up getting hurt are themselves, well said.
