Go Fetch!
So here I am, just about a month in. Creating content, sharing to social media. Things are going about as well as I can expect. But, of course I don't know EVERYTHING. (Although I like to think I do!)
So yesterday I was checking my ranking stats, and was browsing the Search Console on Google. Of course I'd used the fetch as Google tool before, but it seems I was doing it all backwards. I kept indexing only the home page. And kept fetching all links from that page. Seemed pretty straight forward. But thanks to the tools and the convenient search box up above, I found a better and more effective way to do things. I was even fetching as both desktop and mobile and wasting a monthly fetch for each post. Wow Jay. XD
So now I know. New fetch for every post. Not fetch and render unless errors are encountered. And fetch from desktop only since I'm using my laptop computer to work. And you know what? It works. Within minutes my posts that hadn't been indexed yet, were indexed. Double checked via Chrome Incognito, search settings 100, and did a search for the keywords and did a "find" (Ctrl F) and found my post in the top 100 results. It's progress.
So thanks WA and community for all the advice and training and lessons!
EDIT: Just realized, for those who haven't used the tool yet, in the box make sure to put the actual blog post slug (URL) so that post gets indexed. Don'd do what I do and just submit the part that is automatically there. I'll include pictures eventually.

Well done, no matter how big or small our progress is we should celebrate those gains. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! Indeed, every success is progress, and even a failure is progress as long as you learn from it!
