My time so far at WA

Hey Everyone

I am just about to complete my Course 2 training and as I'm sure many of you know this involves writing my first blog here (providing I haven't written one prior which I have not).

The niche I choose to start with likely couldn't be much tougher due to the fact it is a rather broad area. It is "The Electric Guitar". I did intentionally choose solely the electric guitar as opposed to all guitars in general because that is my interest. I am not really into acoustic or classical guitars because I play solely electrics. That helps narrow it down just a bit but I am afraid I still have a niche that is much larger than it should be. I am having trouble getting rankings in Google. I was finally able to get my site set up with the Google authorship, Google analytics as well as Google webmaster tools. By the way Steve@ITriedThat (my WA introducer) I have re-found your roadmap and I am looking at it seriously again! (Just in case you see this). I have gotten a lot accomplished in the short time I've been here I feel, but at the same time I realize I have got to build and build until I see the traffic in order to justify promoting affiliates. My website is: electricguitarmax.com Thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this point, and I sincerely hope to be able to help others in the future.

Take Care

James M. Tharp (jimmyguitar)

Thank you Jim will give that a go, have a good day

That is kind of you Jim yes sore fingers lol not too bad though its just a basic acoustic, I really want to learn the mandolin but figured this might help me first

Hello, you might even try a set of lighter electric guitar strings, I would suggest a set that goes from .009 to .042. These are lighter strings than anyone would typically put on an acoustic guitar. Others might very well be advise against doing this, but I'd do it anyway. They won't hurt the guitar in any way, and they'll save your fingers a lot of grief. I have an acoustic (a fairly nice one) I've had for years with this gauge of string on it and no problems. Hopefully if you decide to try it, you have someone that can help you put them on and stretch them so they stop losing pitch (they call it stretching the strings out, in reality you are more just tightening the strings around the tuning posts until they don't slip any more and stop going out of tune). Just don't go too crazy stretching out the higher strings because they are light gauge and they do like to break if you get too hard on them. I hope this helps, like I say, I'd just do it at least until you get comfortable with the lighter gauge and then move up gradually if you choose to. By the way you probably already know but mandolins have doubled strings like a 12 string guitar, to where you are fretting two strings at once with each fingertip, so I think the guitar first is a real good idea! Take Care, Jim

Forgot to say Jim I am embarking on learning to play guitar lol slow going but getting there

That's interesting Cathy, what kind of guitar do you have? Are you having any pain related problems like the strings are killing your fingertips etc.? If so you may want to try some lighter strings until your fingers get more used to it. Let me know if I can be of any help! Jim

Hey James . Well done! You are making a great progress. I saw your website and to start is a has a nice looking site. :)

Hi Jorge
I appreciate the comment and I am happy to have a nice report from a person that has been around here for a long while, let alone that you're in the computer business. As far as what I can decipher, I need to just keep building, do regular blogging and eventually start advertising as soon as I see a substantial amount of visitors. I hope that sounds correct to you?
Thanks Again, Jim

I think you site is cool and wish you every success with it

Thanks Cathy, I forgot to thank you for your nice comments. I wish you nothing but success as well. Take Care, Jim

Jim, your site looks really cool. I like the theme you chose, and your writing is excellent! The people will come.

I enjoyed reading your about me page. Great information. I like the theme you used for your website and how it is laid out. Debbie
