Hey there folks, me again.
I've been asked about this followers and following people at Wealthy Affiliate stuff and what the purpose is for it.
Well, Wealthy Affiliate allows you to "build" a network of followers just like social media sites. Twitter would be the best example of this.
On Wealthy Affiliate you have an option to follow people just like you do on Twitter.
Following people on Wealthy Affiliate results in you getting people following you back.
If you want more followers at Wealthy Affiliate, you have to follow people first.
The ratio I have and it might be similar for you, is 3:1
This means if I follow 30 people I end up with about 10 people who follow me back.
There can be a reason for those others that don't follow back. Perhaps they haven't logged in to WA for a while, or they've left.

So, if you want followers start following people on WA and on Social Media such as Twitter.
If you choose to not follow people, you're likely not to get many followers.

So you see, you gotta follow about 3 people to get 1 follow back. Follow people if you want followers. Don't follow people if you don't want followers.
