It's my birthday!

Growing up, my birthday was always celebrated as the best day of the year. I mean, c'mon, the planet was blessed with my presence on this very day! (Can you tell that my mom reeeally loves me?)

I would count down to February 6th, starting at least a month in advance. Once we were a week away, it became a daily announcement, "Six days until my birthday!...Three more days until my birthday!...Guys, guess what! My birthday is tomorrow!!

I've kept that birthday spirit alive for a long time. Which is why this year, I'm surprised at how content I feel for lying low on such a special day.

However, the Universe and Mother Nature have blessed this New Englander with a beautiful blanket of snow, and thus an afternoon off for this lovely lady. So, since the other half is at work, braving the cold, I've blanketed up inside and just...chilled. (I'm punny too. Is it obvious that I'm a quirky Aquarius?)

A younger version of me would be worried that something was wrong.... Why am I not jubilantly shouting from the rooftops that I've survived another successful revolution around the sun!?

But today, I'm really okay.

This past year has brought a lot of lessons, a lot of growth, and plenty of love.

Today, I'm okay with resting in peaceful silence, alone with my cute kitties, singing, reading, writing. Being.

After all, to just be is what I was born to do.
