Seasoning Your Words Brings Life to Others

Hello my Wealthy Affliate family! I hope today finds you well and prosperous. And your hearts full of love for others. I have encountered nothing but encouragement and help here at WA, and for that I am grateful. I don't know if it is easy for you or you have to work at it; if how you speak here is how you are with everyone or you struggle to be kind when things don't go the way you want them to.

For example, it may be easy here at WA but it's a different story if someone cuts you off in traffic or you can't find something at the grocery store, and when you ask for help, you are blown off or given bad directions. When you are frustrated, do you remain calm or does your frustration leak out on others?

What you say and the way you say it can be so important. Just like salt is a seasoning and makes your food taste better, seasoning can also make your words more pleasant for someone else to hear.

Whatever is in your heart will determine what you will say. For the words that you speak come from whatever is in your heart. If your heart is full of anger and resentment, then you will have a hard time speaking kind words. Even if you say nice things, you will not be sincere, and eventually, your words will come out badly. If your heart is full of grace and love, you will say things that reflect those qualities. That's why we are told to guard our hearts. Do you agree?

Consider the following inspirational quotes and proverbs:

"Gentle words are a tree of life." --Proverbs 15:4

"Be careful with your words. Once they are said, they can only be forgiven, not forgotten."

"Kind words are like honey--sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." --Proverbs 16:24

"Words are free. It's how you use them that may cost."

"A person's words can be life-giving water; words of wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook." --Proverbs 18:4

"Words can inspire. And words can destroy. Choose yours well." --Robin Sharma

"Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." --Colossians 4:6

"Our words have power. They impact others, but they also impact us." --Michael Hyatt

"Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble." --Proverbs 21:23

"Don't mix your words with your mood. You can change your mood but you can't take back your words."

"Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies." --Psalm 34:13

"Words are containers for power, you choose what kind of power they carry." --Joyce Meyer

Your words do indeed have the power to bring life to others or they can bring a type of death. Even if you agree, it doesn't mean you will always be successful. Because we are human, we will fail. But working toward using our words to bring life to others is a worthy goal and one that can be achieved more and more as we pay attention to what's in our hearts.

I hope this post has encouraged you to think about the impact the words you speak will have. I know this is something I need to be reminded of often.

How will you season your words today to bring life to others?

Thanks for the reminder Lynn.

We must all choose our words carefully when communicating with others as hurt can be caused otherwise.

Have a great weekend.

Your welcome, Nick!

I hope you have a great weekend as well.

Lynn

Thanks Lynn.

Totally agree - the power of words can be destructive or can bring life. Choose your words wisely and do your bit to make the world a better place.

Hi Janice, I'm glad you agree. There is way too much destructive words going on in our world right now, but we can do our best to be part of the solution :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Amazing. Thanks for sharing the encouragement.
Words are indeed powerful, especially the vocabulary we use when we speak to ourselves.

You're absolutely right, Akshay! The way we speak to ourselves can definitely have a negative effect on us. Thanks for pointing that out. I hope you have a great Friday!
