Hey fellow WAUers!!

I just came across this important info regarding the near future switch to EMV cards (credit cards with chips rather than magnetic stripes) for the United States and the likely impact it will have on e-tailers.

Those of you that sell your own merchandise on your websites may need to heed this warning and make the necessary adjustments as advised in this article linked below:

You are quite welcome!! Hope your night is going well!

There will always be glitches with new technologies. Hope card companies can finally find a way to stop all hackers dead in their vicious criminal activities.

Thanks for your comment, Gordi! You are so right and I too hope they figure out a way to stop them; however, I don't believe they can ever stop it completely, unfortunately!

I've heard of this recently. Sounds like they're still working the bugs out. I'm not impressed if its less secure online than the "older" technology. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this technology in the future. Just hopes it works out to our advantage with us being online retailers and all.

I know it sounds like the US was putting off going to this as other countries such as Canada and some European countries have already began using them...says its safer for physical use at bricks-n-mortar stores but so far has increased theft for online retailers, so definitely NOT GOOD...according to the article there are some ways for us to protect ourselves, so figured this was a must read for us here!!

It this happens, we need to be sure to uphold every measure we can to prevent fraud. This happens already. I read about some kind of token in the article. I'd like more info on theses in the days to come.

Jenny, thanks for the article. I read it, but still don't understand it very much. I'm not at that stage so I need a system here to file things like this away to get to later when I'm ready for it. Maybe a folder called: When I'm Smart on the Computer.....LOL

Same here sweetie..I've actually already formed a file in my yahoo email for all these things I'm getting so that I can go back and reference when I need them! I had began to become overwhelmed because I am getting daily newsletters and all types of stuff to for e-commerce and SEO so that's exactly what I had to do, instead of opening all of it and reading I'm storing it for later!! Thanks for the look!!
