Something seems to be working.
Hi everybody, I just thought I'd check in and let you all know that I seem to have had some sort of breakthrough.
I've spent hours and hours, reading, learning and writing content and worked through the night and been up and dog tired all the next day on a lot of occasions during my online business development.
I have asked myself a lot of questions, why am I doing this and what else could I do now instead of a 'job' the main thing that has kept me going is the belief that this absolutely will work, and that I want to prove to so many people who think I'm crazy that it does too.
I haven't managed to get to grips with Email marketing, I've learned so much in such a short space of time that I've not yet managed to wrap my head around it the design and construction and then series aspect - I just seem to have a mind block, I'll work it out when I'm ready suddenly it will just pop and I won't be able to believe that I had a problem. The main reason I think I have had an issue is that I was reading so many things that told me it was all about the list, grow your list, without a list you don't have a chance.
I started doing some self development reading, quite a lot actually.
Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
The Science of Getting Rich - Wallace Wattles
The Greatest Miracle in the World - Og Mandino
The Jim Rohn Guides To....
These are just a few, I'm not here to promote them or tell you you should read them, I just wanted to share that I have and found them useful.
I began to realise that I already have a list, it may not be an email list, but I have active profiles on a number of social media sites Facebook, Twitter, mainly but to a slightly lesser extent Pinterest and Instagram.
Plus if you have a business on facebook you can also create adverts, I'm still learning how to do this and comply with all the rules but as soon as I've had some more success and figured out how it make it work better for me I'll definitely be creating some training for you. -- I'll be looking around WA to see if there is any that can help me too.
In the meantime I shall continue to do what is working on a smaller scale and that is actually talking to people. My advice to you is don't just share your link whether it is an affiliate link or a link to your own website, and expect people to look at it, read and and take action. You need to comment on other peoples posts, like and share them too.
If you have a specific niche you can find groups of people on facebook to talk to, don't share your stuff as soon as you meet them, talk to them first, listen to what they want then show them where they can get it. If that's from you great, if its from another WA member or somewhere else entirely then do that, they'll be more likely to come back to your for help with something you do have solution for next time. Ask if you can add them as a friend so they get to see more of your awesome posts.
Commenting with something sincere and positive is best as it makes the other person feel good and the positive emotion is more likely to get a positive response.
Anyway I just thought I'd share some of the evolutionary process of a marketer. Almost a draft post for my website. Sometimes the ideas need to be written down in a couple of places before the full article takes shape. -- Well that's how it seems to happen for me anyway.
Thank you for reading and just a quick introduction to my newest Wealthy Affiliate member, whom I had the pleasure of meeting via facebook a lovely lady named Kerry who is looking to develop an existing business and broaden her horizons with building her own website, she's already on her way having created a great bio.

Awesome advice. Thanks. I am just starting to try my social media chops out, so the timing of this article couldnt be better.
Hi Thank you. Quite a lot of trial and error. I have found some training by Jay on the webinar list that might help too. I;m definitely going to be checking it out.
Before reading this, I would just start sharing my pages on twitter etc and FB, but due to your post I have started networking and liking and commenting on tweets and FB posts as well as joining groups in my niche to get ideas for articles and tutorials.
G+ and StumbleUpon are still a massive mystery to me however.
Thanks again Jenny, very helpful.
That's great, let me know how you get on. It can be a lengthy process but should yield better results that just posting your stuff out there. Eventually, it will mean people come to you rather than you seeking them out. I think we can all agree that its better that way round. Keep at it the rewards of your work, and patience await. :-)
Don't worry about too many different social media platforms to start with, Google+ is handy but stick with what you're most familiar with first and branch out when you feel ready.

Hi Michael, Thank you - I seem to have a lot of conversations on paper rather than out loud!!! Works for me.
