All That You Invest
Do you grow as a person everyday?
Do you make damn-sure to laugh?

Or do others tend to speak on your behalf?
I've been there, down and dragging my feet,
Unsure whether I deserved more.
I know the feelings of unworthiness and shame,
Of questioning what I'm here for.
Finding direction and a strong sense of self,
Is difficult, that's for sure!
But if you keep getting back up and trying again,
You'll discover, for yourself, what has allure.
You don't have to be perfect, no-one is;
Just be yourself, it's what you do best!
With time and effort, success will come,
And it'll be worth all that you invest...

I'm surprised that I'm the only one who writes poetry when there are so many people here on WA!! It's something I've done since I was a kid. I don't rethink much, I just write whatever comes to me. It's nice to have an opportunity to share it with people and to get so much positive feedback.

I'm one of the slower ones - lol!! At least so far here on WA. I guess it's partly due to joining the month before Christmas!! Such a busy time. I'm hoping to have more time I nice the kids go back to school. Thanx for taking the time to read my poem. I really appreciate it!!

Thanks for this, this rings very true with me, always feeling like the invisible one or not being heard in a room full of people, this is why I love WA as it builds confidence and people reply and enjoy what you have to say, much love and keep doing what your doing :-)

I know exactly what you mean! When I did my first poem on here I was shocked by all of the responses. Words that I tend to write for myself actually interest people?? Wow! There certainly are many kind and supportive people on WA aren't there?

Love this as we have all been there but remember that you and only you is responsible for what happens in your life and if you love yourself and love what you are doing then as you love your life your life will love you back and sill show you in many ways !!
