I help my husband with his seasonal business along with my Mobile animal care business. I'm a mother of two adult boys who also work in our seasonal business. Helping people with their pet's wellness in a holistic natural approach is my passion. Much of my time goes towards volunteering my service to help rescued dogs and pets.
I'm a dog lover and had a lab 14 years and a husky for 16 years who are no longer with me since 2016. Now I have 3 huskies. All under a year old. My profile picture is with my most recent husky I brought home just in December 2016. His name is Meeko and is now 5 months old. Then there is the female (Arctica) who is 10 months old and Alaska who is a year old. My life is a lot about the dogs.
My goal is to create an income from an online business which could allow me to volunteer my time 100% to the rescues who are in need of holistic therapy.

I enjoy reading, cooking, and researching. Experimenting in the kitchen is a fun time for me. I have found many DIY projects from which I've benefited from as well as family and pets such as with making my own probiotics, sprouting a variety of seeds, grains and legumes. Growing my own wheat grass in moisture and making wheat grass juice is much fun.

I've been with WA for almost two months and loving the community. The help from them is priceless. I am always touched when someone offers their help. The WA community is very warm.

An UPDATE May 20, 2019
It's been very good to be here for the time I've spent. I know more now than I ever did. WA gave me a real good knowledge foundation. But I have to leave for "I don't know how long" due to other major demands in life. Maybe one day I can return. Thank you all who gave me the help I needed. I won't for get it.
Warm Thoughts to all.

I've been on a mission to help my husband to get well while studying about herbs and natural healing along with focusing on a hidden site about this mission and Natural Healing. I finally passed the course and I am now a Certified Family Herbalist. But I will be away from WA and not sure if I will return. It depends on if I still feel that I have a purpose or mission anymore. I wish everyone here total success and most importantly Good Health.

Wow, you have such noble goals, I myself have two rescued, cats and one dog. I feel very strongly for the matter of strays and rescue animals as well. Arctica and Alaska? I actually live in Alaska, have you actually been or something? Anyways I love your profile and I wish you all the luck, happiness, and success with Wealthy Affiliate once you get time to start working on your site more again. :)

No I have not been to Alaska. I live in Ontario, Canada. That name just suited him so much.
I call him Alaska Blue at times. I love my little Meeko who is Alaska's younger brother. Their vocals are so cute. Arctica is sort of a knock off name from my first male Arctic who passed away at 16 in 2016.
Thank you for such a lovely message.
I know that you will do very well.

Oh yeah! I used to have a dog named Neeko, I was going to say that in the first comment.
One day when you are wealthy you and make your dreams happen I would recommend visiting Alaska, most of it is an incredibly beautiful place, I haven't been all over Canada though so there are probably some places very similar in parts of Canada.
Thank you, that means a lot to me.

You are a very insightful young man. I hope that you make progress in every way that counts.
I've watched documentaries about Alaska and it truly is very beautiful from what I saw. Alaska would be a top choice for my travels as I love the appearance and it appeals to me more than the common tropical areas.
Alaska is one of a kind.

You could show lots of pictures of Alaska on your profile. I would enjoy seeing them.

Hi JenNine, thank you for the kind words. You did not fail with the dog in the car! You got the guy to come out and turn the AC on.
Big WIN. You saved the dogs life!! Keep in touch and I would welcome a guest blog if you are up to it. My favorite TV commercials are the ones with dogs...remember... Dogs sell!

Thank you for your insight. I never thought of it like that.

You made my day! Well, it's late now...but I'll also have a good day with this in mind, too.

Yes, Dogs sell! And my big Alaska runs to the TV whenever he sees or hears dogs. haha

Hi JenNine,
Pretty amazing that you could get to rank 127 after only a few months. Congratulations on all the hard work it takes. I am a big dog fan as well. I spent 3 weeks in NOLA immediately after Hurricane Katrina. We rescued over 8,000 dogs in the time I was there. My niche is RV travel and have a section on RV Travel with dogs at www.AllAmericaRV.com. Am always interested in good content and guest bloggers...especially about dogs!
My best,

Hello GWilliams,

Thank you for the nice message. My rank is going up again as I've spent more time just focusing on my lessons and site. lol

The rank doesn't really do much for me. haha

I must commend you for the love and kindness you applied during Hurricane Katrina in rescuing dogs! That is really touching. I saw it on the news and now here you are an actual person I meet who was involved. Wow!

Your site is really fantastic and I'm so glad that you talk much about the safety and care for dogs. Especially the factor about leaving dogs in cars.

I found a dog left in a car on a hot day. The owner was in a restaurant and I managed to get his attention. He got very angry at me. He started his car and turned on the A/C and went back into the restaurant. The guy came out about 15 minutes later and left.

In the meantime I was trying to call for help to find out what the legalities are. It was a huge fail.

They advertise to call certain numbers during distress for animals and then once you do, they have a million excuses not to come.
I am disgusted with it. So much for Ontario, Canada laws.

Sorry for the negative story. Eeeeek and you don't even know me. You just seem to have the right shoulders to cry upon about dog episodes so I told you.

I see that you've traveled alot. Traveling is nice but I enjoy just being with my dogs. They are therapy for me. Maybe one day I will travel a little.

I hope to see you again.
I commented on you Site.
I'm following you.

ah another animal lover who shares the same passion. It is always nice to meet someone who feels as strongly as I do about the abuse of animals, the injustice of it all. Humans complain about the over population of animals and it is our own fault when we do not spay or neuter our pets.

Jen, I was recently skimming Live Chat and saw your comment on a puppy training run. So I came here to read about you. And as per usual I forgot to save it before jumping into your website. I did leave a comment there so hopefully it is still there!

I too am an animal lover so I immediately know I really like you. We don't have dogs as our property isn't fenced but I always had one as a child. We have had a plethora of cats though. Only Katie, our current one, was rescued by us from the Cat Rescue Home. Peter saw a photo and we had to have her as she was so cute.

Our other cats rescued themselves by wandering in and landing at our doorstep. I guess they knew who the cat softies were. All but one has lived to 19 or more so I guess we did something right.

Our one that didn't live this long was our lovely ex-male Oscar. He got FIV even though we requested the vaccine. Our vet at that time said there wasn't FIV in Tasmania. Yeh right. We certainly left her right away and so did all our friends. Word of mouth is great. Oscar only reached 9 1/2 and we really miss him as he missed out on the long life that he might have reached. That vet couldn't even diagnose this. She just said he was an old cat with old cat syndrome. Tunnelled visioned was her middle name.

Just a note on sprouting seeds. Have you tried sunflower seeds. They are the best. Really tender and yummy. I grow these in a seed tray filled with potting mix. The soil needs to be damp but not wet. Spread the seeds, mist with a bit of water and cover the tray with black plastic until they are well sprouted. Check moisture daily. When the first sprouts reach about 7cm uncover the tray. Still mist them as needed. Harvest with scissors when green. They grow at different rates so only harvest what you need.

You can also do this if you can get a full head with mature seeds. Place the head on the potting mix seeds up. Then follow the same process.

Now I am going to keep in touch by following you.

Ciao

Hello Helen,
I am very touched by your message. You are a very warm lady with such a gentle voice. Yes, I imagine you with a gentle voice through your message.

This is so neat. I was just in my email and replied to you but I don't know if it worked. So, let me know if you got an email from theforeverpetparent.

I love cats, too. I can certainly sympathize with you in your loss. Pets are so loyal. I do look forward to connecting with you more in the future. I am going to put the topic of getting dogs for children as a to do post and hopefully write it out soon.

I enjoy sprouting a variety of seeds and legumes in water. They sprout fast at times. Green lentils are so yummy. They taste like fresh peas from the garden.
I look forward to chatting with you often and soon!
Thank you Helen for your acknowledgement. I shall visit your site shortly.

It's really odd the way it's going with the email. Your comment showed up in my email rather than in the comments. I was able to read it but not sure if my reply went through. The email says that your comment is waiting for approval but when I click on it, it prompts me to sign into my email again which won't accept my password.
I'm trying to find your comment where it originally is like the others.

I have a feeling that the reply didn't go through. It's just very odd the way it is. I should see your comment in the SiteRubix and be able to approve it. I only have 2 comments there and they are older ones.
It will probably take me awhile to figure it out as something like this is hard to explain or search for help. So far I did ask and I get the same old advise of what I've already did.

I'd love to be in that environment with the wild, too. By the way where are you?

In Tasmania.

I have two comments from you. One for About Helen and one about Kobo. I responded to both but the Kobo one still shows pending (just checked and not anymore).

Silly question, but when you go to comments in the WP dashboard do you go to comments and then do a reply. Maybe this would help.

And it is the best idea on handling comments as people offering comments love to get a reply. And one other advantage is that your double up your comment amount for Google.

You might do this as I didn't go through everything.

Hello Jen and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Noticed you on Live Chat so I gather you liked one of my replies to those asking for help.
You be careful on Live Chat because although members do want to help and believe they are sometimes you will get totally the wrong info, and if you're learning you wont know its crap info and end up getting stuff wrong.

I'm thinking that since you joined you will surely have realized by now that internet marketing can be a steep learning curve.

Thank you for taking the time for your detailed message.

Yes, I read you in chat live and picked up your "wisdom" . I couldn't agree with you more about your advise. Research has always been practically a hobby for me so validating most people's views and direction with research is a habit for me. Some people have been insulted because of this because they want others to Trust them. Well, I think that respecting people's help and being greatful while validating the information benefits both parties. I return the favor if I find new information.

If I can't find the answers to my today's questions I shall come to you.

Thank you again for your prompt reply.

Hi again Jen. You have only been here a short while but in case you don't know, it’s a good idea (only if you want to) to click the 'Like' icon within a comment if you like it as I have done with yours.
Obviously you don't have to click every single comment or you will be here all day doing nothing but.
But to click the ones you like that are replies to your own comments will be reflected in your WA ranking because it shows you are getting involved with the community.
Of course you might have already decided not to get too involved and have therefore decided not to 'Like' comments, good, bad or indifferent and as far as I'm concerned that really is ok by me.
I will still help you as and when you get in touch.
Enjoy your day.

Hello JenNine, I love huskies too! I grew up here in Alaska with a whole team. Sadly, I do not have any now. My last was a beautiful, big, white boy. My husband grew up with a team also which is pretty rare, even here.

My niche is pet wellness. I focus on cats since that is what we have at the moment, but the line of supplements I advocate (PetAlive) is made for dogs as well. The supplements are so amazing that was the inspiration for starting my website so I could share this information.

I hope you do well here at WA!
Welcome!

Hello Husky lover, Jessica! Thank you for connecting with me. You and I went opposite as I was raised loving cats and never dreamed of loving dogs as I do until 15 years ago. Yea, I miss my old 16 year old Arctic. I used mostly home remedies and homemade meals for my dogs. I have used a few products from PetAlive. Good product! Now I continue the same routine with my three huskies. I hope to give them even a longer life with the better knowledge I have. Hopefully I can also share healthy ideas to dog owners as well.
I wish you the best success in your business journey!

My husband and I want to have dogs again we just have not been able to since we have been renting a house. The landlord wouldn't let us build a fence and we have so many moose I won't have a dog here again. My last dog almost got stomped!

Nice connecting with you!
Reply
JenNine Premium
Oh wow...moose!
Your set up seems very similar to ours. We've been renting always, too. But regardless, we adopted our shepherd/lab (Gonzo) and Husky (Arctic) in 2000. in 2001 we lived on a campground for 3 months when they were less than a year and then rented a house. 5 years later rented another house. Then 5 years later renting where we are now There were a few moose roaming at these last few places. Fortunately my Gonzo and Arctic never had to be tied. They both stayed in the yard from just obeying. They spoiled me.
On the other hand, my three I have now I don't know what the training results will be. Hopefully by the time they are two years old they will also obey. It's not hard to break them through their instinct of reward as they will do anything for a treat. But to command them not to chase another dog or cat is another level of instinct to reach. That can be a challenge.
I hope that you either find a landlord who allows you to have a fence or that you can buy a house.
Maybe if this WA is a success for me a house could become a reality, too.
Yes, it's really nice to connect with you, too!

Please don't let yourself get discouraged! Everyone here seems to be ready to help. The teaching by Kyle is terrific, just keeps building lesson by lesson. Some lessons are harder than others, that is to be expected. BUT you can repeat and look back, etc., until you understand. I keep notes galore and keep a computer list of websites so I can return to them. It's really not overwhelming if you just plug along. I'm old, grew up and went to college long before there were computers or cell phones, so much of this is very new to me, too.

Ask questions! Start the lessons and don't stop. It starts to come together at some point for everyone. It's just that point is different for each person. Please message me if I can help. Good luck.

You have a great niche to use. Everyone loves dogs! Or just pick one breed. I used to raise Russian wolfhounds, borzoi, and have owned German Shepherds, multiple terriers, and miniature dachshunds. Currently we have a miniature long-haired chestnut dachshund, age 16, much loved.

Joan, You touched my heart with your message. Thank you. I'm sure we're both pretty close in age. There wasn't any cell phones or computers until shortly after I graduated high school. I went to a college and took a night time course in Word. That was when they used the DOSS. No windows then! So, I'm right behind you for age! I had to go back to part time school and learn the computer all over again in 2003. I have a little back ground in the computer because I do all the admin for my husband's seasonal business.
Thank you for your warm encouragement.

Still way ahead of you in age, I'm 78. My husband went to graduate school with Peter Norton! Before anyone had PC's in their homes! No computer for me in college, even electric typewriters were new. Cell phones just came in and were huge in size when my sons were just about 10 or so.

You'll do fine. Just keep learning step by step. I get distracted and then just bite the bullet and settle down and get back to learning. All of us want to earn money and I know my website will not do that, but my second website will!

I visited your beautiful site. It's absolutely fabulous! I have saved it in my favorites. Congratulations for such a beautiful job! Wow!
You have very valuable information that is a huge benefit for my small business, Laser and Massage for Canine and Equine. I call it Arctic Therapy named after my late 16 year old husky Arctic who passed away in May 2016. I haven't worked on many horses but have a few regulars. The canine's keep me more busy. I love it. Where are you located as I didn't see unless I overlooked it.

I'm in Scottsdale, AZ. Moved here in 1992. Born and lived in Glens Falls, NY before that but sent away to school in 1952 and only came back to marry in 1963. Lived with my husband, who I met and went with from age 14, on the edge of the Adirondack Park just south of Lake George raising borzoi, other dogs, horses, and three sons on 85 acres (only cost $10,000 in those days!). Been married 54 years now. Still riding, too.

Your niche is SUPER! Arctic Therapy can really work for you! Get on it and register your domain name. What a great idea! You have tons to write about it and you can even add a bit about horses. Massage and acupuncture is really big in horses and we have a vet doctor coming in to our boarding stable to do this on several horses about every two weeks. Different horses all the time, too. And not just performance horses but old, old horses, etc. Great niche for you. I expect dog owners will really go for it.

Thanks for replying. Like hearing from you.

By the way, I'm 55. My profile with the dog, Meeko was taken on Dec. 22, 2016. Just 3 months ago. I brought him home that day. He's husky #3.
I didn't use my Laser and Massage business for my Niche as there isn't really anything I could think of to sell. This is a Mobile service where I go to the clients and perform the therapy. That's it. I created a free site with wix for it. www.arctictherapy4pets.wix.com/laser
Remember, it's free so it's probably not going to be what wordpress viewers are used to, I don't know.
I haven't put up a page for horses, yet.
So in order to keep my interest centered on animals I'm going with The Forever Pet Parent. I can talk about several topics about nutrition and do affiliate. There's lot's of topics and items to sell. It's only starting to sink in now how it works.

Joan, I just want to say this, you're encouraging message was what moved me to continue this program. You're so far away and all I can give you is a Hug from my Heart to yours.
And a Huge THANK YOU!

As much as I've already created a free website for my small business with another platform, I'm very lost with the WordPress method so it's going to be a huge challenge.
I hope that it might be alright with you that I kind of lean towards you for advice, encouragement and help. I ask a lot of repetitive questions. Just a warning...lol
Like, where did you find all the gulf pictures and the Sleep apnea heading picture on your home page? Was that something that is available within this program or did you have to pay for it?
I don't want to go so far with wordpress and then hit a dead end like last time. Sorry for my negativity. I believe that WA is realistic. My past experience with Wordpress is my worry.
Hope you're enjoying the nice Weather!

Hi Jeannine,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my sites, I appreciate it!
I will do my best to try and answer any questions you may have. As far as my sleep apnea banner image, I hired someone on Fiverr to create it for me. As far as the golf pictures, those are mine. I took the banner image from the course I play at, called Greyhawk, which is out in Carlsbad Springs. I also hired someone, again from Fiverr to create my prosportscaps banner.
I'm comfortable with wordpress so if you have any questions, let me know.
Hope you had a great weekend! Hopefully the weather will continue to warm up through the week and coming weeks. Thankfully, winter comes to an end on Tuesday, so I'm hoping we've seen the last of winter.

Hi Shawn,
Thank you so much for answering my questions. I was wondering if there may be some extra investments in order to have such an elegant site. I just completed the stage 4 of the course, although after watching all levels first. I'm having a real battle with it. I'm accustomed to working directly on a page like my current site and I'm having difficulty in connecting the logic of the WP back office. I'm going to try to have this done before the expired date. And thank you for your kind reply to give me help. Much appreciated for sure.
Glad you had a nice weekend and yes we need our spring as our seasonal business depends on it.
Cheers!

Hi Jeannine!
My pleasure, I don't know how much help I was, but to clarify, the banners that I had created for me cost $6/each in USD.
I remember coding websites from hand, usually using notepad, and then moved on to other web authoring software tools. Thankfully, wordpress does a lot of stuff behind the scenes for us, such as CSS.
Have a great week! Hopefully the weather will continue to warm up for us.

You have been a huge help. I'm surprised at the $6 figure for the banners. I thought it cost 100's of dollars for hiring people to do these requests. Just like hiring someone to design a web site.
That's why a few years ago after loosing a few dollars and getting frustrated in not understanding web sites, I took a web design course. They taught a little coding, too just to give an understanding as to what goes on behind the scenes and I'm glad. It helps me to understand the hidden "whys" and "hows" the way it works. People still use that coding at times too so I'm happy to understand that part a bit. It gave me a better foundation to work with but still a long way to go. There is endless knowledge about it out there.

Thank you for telling me about the banners. I might need to do that too and it's a great price!
