I hope my posts are not boring to you yet, today I am going to try to explain what is the difference between writing posts and articles. This is something I have been asked many times over the years, so I thought this might be a good topic to share with you.
What is a Blog Post?
A blog post is an individual entry published on a blog, a type of website that features regularly updated content to a specific target audience and on a specific niche.
- Blog posts typically are usually between 300 words to 2,000+ words, with the average being between 600 and 1200 words.
- The blogger targets a specific audience interested in a specific niche.
- Bloggers are known for their casual conversation.

- They contain factual information and evidence to support the content.

- Articles can target a general audience with a strong interest in the content. Often targets an informed audience with some existing knowledge in the field.
Publication Platform
- Blog Posts will be found on personal blogs and social media platforms more often than articles.
- Articles are published in magazines, newspapers, academic journals, and professional websites.

Tips for writing blog posts
- Considering current trends, answer questions, or solve your target audience's problems will engage your readers.
- Understanding your topic strengthens your content and builds trust with your readers.
- Create attention-grabbing headings.
- Get your reader's attention in the first paragraph with a question, or surprising fact.
- Write like you're having a chat with a friend about the topic.
- Break up your text with subheadings, bullet points, and short paragraphs.
- Images, infographics, and videos can enhance your content.
- Include relevant keywords naturally throughout your post, but avoid keyword stuffing.
- Take the time to edit your content.
- Share your blog post on social media, online communities, and email newsletters.
- Respond to comments, answer questions, and participate in discussions.
