Let's Create a Facebook Group
Hello WA Family
In my last post, we created your Facebook Business page. Today we are going to create a Facebook group. Of all the marketing strategies this is the one that I had the most success with on this platform. You could join up with other WA members to create and manage a group if you wish.
Facebook Group Plan
- What is your group about?
- What kind of discussions are you planning
- Who is your target audience?
- Who do you want to join your group?
Now you are ready to create your group which is a very simple process. This is my favorite marketing strategy that worked the best for me on this platform.
Facebook Group Settings
There are some settings that you need to be aware of before you run off to create your group.
- Public: Anyone can see the group, its members, and posts.
- Closed: Anyone can find the group, but only members can see its members and posts.
- Secret: Only members can find and see the group and its members
Who can join and see your group is something you must consider. There is no right or wrong choice, it is totally up to you.
Facebook Group Information
- Choose a clear and descriptive name that reflects your group's purpose.
- Write a detailed description that explains what the group is about and its rules.
- Choose an eye-catching image that represents your group's theme.
With this information, you are now ready to create your group.
Let's Create Your Facebook Group
- Go to the "Groups" section on Facebook.
- Click "Create New Group."
- Enter your group name, choose the privacy setting, and upload a cover photo.
- Write your group description and customize other settings like membership approval and posting guidelines.
- Click "Create Group" to launch your group!
Once you have your group created you are ready to invite potential members. Why not invite some of the members of WA?
Now you have a much better idea of what is involved in creating a group on this platform. What I did in the past was get together with some of the WA members to create this group and assist me in managing the group.

Even if you don't want to create a Facebook group, you might want to start a group in another place such as Linkedin

Good morning Jeff. Most fb groups I see, and am a part of, are for information sharing only. How would you use one to promote a product or service?

What you do is post your blog posts in your group. Members than interested in the topic go to your website to read your post and with any luck, some will purchase from you.

It's great that you experienced Facebook groups in the past. Even though I am not into Facebook some people love networking on that platform

They were usually quick to monitor activity and ban though too, Jeff! I don't even know how to get back into my Facebook, but since I haven't truly missed it, then I don't worry about it right now! Let's see what kind of answers you get!

There is also the pesky and crafty hackers that are getting really smart with how they impersonate META to get at the Facebook Page and Group users. They "pose" as META Compliance and use fear and threats of closing your FB page/group to get ya to click on their SCAMMY stuff.
