Hello WA Family,

How to use Canva for affiliate marketing is what you will learn today, I only use the free version and so can you. For advanced marketing, Canva Pro is an option, but for now, we are only going to be using the free version.

Using Canva's Free Version for Affiliate Marketing

Canva's free plan offers a ton of resources to create eye-catching visuals for your affiliate marketing campaigns.

Here's how my step-by-step guide to get you on your way.

1. Sign Up

  • Head to Canva's website and create a free account.
  • Explore the design options, templates, and stock photos/videos.

2. Find Affiliate Products

  • Identify products or services you want to promote through affiliate marketing.

3. Choose a Design Type

  • Canva offers a variety of templates for social media posts, website graphics, presentations, and more.
  • Select the format that best suits your promotion strategy (e.g., Instagram post, promoting software).

4. Design with Impact

Free Elements

  • Utilize Canva's vast library of free stock photos, videos, icons, and illustrations. Search for visuals relevant to your affiliate product.

Customize Templates

  • Don't just stick to the basic template.
  • Change fonts, colors, and layouts to fit your brand and message.

Highlight Benefits

  • Use text strategically to showcase the product's key benefits and why your audience should consider it.

Canva Text Tips

  • While free fonts are available

5. Include Your Affiliate Link

  • Make sure to include your unique affiliate link somewhere in the design. Ideally, direct users to a landing page with more product information and your affiliate link.

6. Download and Share

  • Once satisfied with your design, download it in a suitable format (e.g., PNG for social media).
  • Share your creation on your chosen platforms (website, social media) to promote the affiliate product.

Leverage Canva's free design tutorials and webinars to learn advanced design techniques and create even more engaging visuals.

Limitations of the Free Version

  • Keep in mind that some design elements and stock photos/videos are exclusive to Canva Pro.
  • However, the free plan offers a vast selection to get you started.

By following these steps and creatively using Canva's free features, you can design compelling visuals to promote your affiliate products and potentially boost your clicks and conversions.

Canva Alternatives

While Canva is a great tool, there are several free alternatives worth exploring, and I have shared them below.

Crello

  • Often considered the closest competitor to Canva. It offers a similar interface, a vast library of free templates and graphics specifically sized for social media, and even free stock photos.

Snappa

  • Known for its user-friendly interface and focus on creating social media graphics quickly. Snappa offers all free stock photos within their designs and boasts a "snappy" editing experience.

Stencil

  • This free plan excels for social media marketing. It provides pre-sized templates specifically for popular platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. It also offers a good selection of free icons and illustrations.

Adobe Express (formerly Adobe Spark)

  • A strong contender, especially after its recent improvements. The free version offers access to numerous templates, removes watermarks, and integrates with other Adobe products if you use them.

GIMP

  • While not exactly a drag-and-drop tool like Canva, GIMP is a free and powerful open-source image editor. It offers a lot of flexibility for creating unique designs but has a steeper learning curve.

These are just a few options. Consider what type of visuals you create most often (social media posts, presentations, etc.) and explore these alternatives to see which best suits your workflow.

I hope you found this helpful,

Jeff

Some more good information, Jeff. I have used Canva some, but I have not gotten into it that much. I see a lot of people on this platform seem to use it. I need to research and experiment more.

Nancy

Hello Nancy

Many members use Canva more than me, I use it mainly for designing my logos.

I should use it more as well

I have Canva Pro and use it all the time for almost every image I create! It is the best, in my opinion.

Thanks Jeff!
