Think Inside The Box

The New 21st Century Box

I am fascinated by statistics and trends. In an article posted by mailchimp concerning email processing, I discovered that open rates and bounce rates vary significantly according to the industry. Hobbies, government and religion have the most open rate, higher click through rates and lower bounce. However, none of the stats were really impressive, at least not to me. All open rates were under 30% with click through rates right around the 3%. Which means that if I could get 5% optin rate on my sites (dreaming I know but still not as depressing) that would mean, out of 1000 visits, if I could get 5% to optin, I would have have 50 emails sent out but only about 14 of them would open the email (if I was presenting a hobbie, an art, government , or religious information) and only one of them would click through to my offer.

The challenge for modern day internet marketers is to think outside that email box” and inside the new box. The new box is of course…The SMART phone.

If there is anyone out there that has any ideas, products, software, courses, forums, or discussion communities that focus on this new medium, please feel free to PM me and pitch the heck out of me. I think any investment in this new “box” will be money in the bank.

Thanks, JD, for sharing your thoughts on the new directions for email. It is still a work in progress, I know the answer will soon evolve.

Don't put all your eggs in the smart phone. I just got done commenting on a post about spam infections in those mobile devices. use any "box" with wisdom and judgment..

Yeah you will have problems everywhere. What was the source of the spam infections and what was the post?

I am moving so fast through my comments, I don't remember. I', sure it can be found in the general comments by subject area directory.

I am involved in things outside of WA but in the past when I talk about them Carson takes down my posts so I do not do it anymore. I don't menation them because I will get privileges revoked again.

I fully understand because this is their business.

yeah I had that happen to me too so I understand your comment now. But talking about a subject like periscoping, facebook, or twitter and actually putting up affiliate links on our posts to a product that sells software is different. I don't put affiliate links or self promote on the blogs. If you have something you want to share with me in my PM, I am asking for that so, I don't think that's spamming me. I'll ask the community. Is it?

Right now I am looking for a tool that will show me what link my visitor clicked on that sent him/her to my site. I want to know, did he come from a google search or did he come form a PR that I posted on an IBO etc. If you have such a referral, I don't think it violates the rules to send me that in my PM if I ask for it. But I can't post my affiliate link in my signature on this blog or tell you to learn more go to my link at url.such and such. I learned that the hard way and getting locked out sucks. PM me my brother and I would love to hear what you have available and if it will help me, I'll buy it through your link. we are affiliate marketers doing business in a gentlemanly fashion, not hucksters out to scam each other. I'm smart enough to know the difference.
So if can anyone in our community weigh in on this?

Be Blessed as You continue to seek ways to Bless Others,
JD

Back home JD and tired beyond belief. Good trip and also the visit with family in Seattle. Back to the WA World tomorrow. Now? TO BED!!

Not my expertise JD ...good luck finding a connection!

At the moment, that kind of stuff is way over my head and I couldn't begin to understand how it would help me. Thanks for posting this, though, I may be worth considering down the line.

A great, user-friendly app is always a WIN. If you have an idea someone can build it for you!

Trying not to overthink it is a big one for me with all the toys and new shiny things that seem to come out every other day.

Great blog,

Cali

Blessing to you as well.
