This is the poem from The Maid's Perspective.

A Dragon's Love

(Maid's Perspective)

In night's embrace, my heart begins to weep,

From castle's keep, shadows run dark and deep,

Down winding paths, my love embarked, bereaved,

To face the fiery beast that stole all I believed.

With vengeance in his gaze, his eyes ablaze,

He swore to end the monster's wicked ways,

To save his love or avenge her tragic fate,

He ventured forth, driven by love and hate.

The creature, a scourge, its terror far and wide,

It took my love, my heart's light cast aside,

Silent woods echo its deeds of dread and fright,

A giant fiend that shrouds day in night.

Through thickened woods, my brave knight pressed,

Torches flickered, casting shadows unrest,

Amidst the darkness, he pursued his righteous quest,

Till the lair of the invader, he divined its nest.

Within a king's barrow mound, ancient, old,

The thief lay, slumber's grasp took hold,

Honor stayed his hand from ending sleep's fold,

His horn's challenge, a silence it foretold.

His territory invaded, the beast's fury rose,

Answered with roars, as his anger chose,

His heart raced, poised to face the shadow's blows,

His steed poised to charge, as tension flows.

The drake emerged, a shadow in the night,

To consume and destroy, a deadly plight,

The charge ensued, earth trembled, hearts took flight,

Hooves pounded, a dance of death in sight.

The creature's eyes blazed with destruction's might,

Lance met scales, moonlit clash in the night,

A snap, a cry, the battle's intense height,

In the moon's glow, shadows danced in fright.

Grasping the splintered lance, it pulled him near,

Through the air he soared, armor's echoes clear,

My prayer, her grace untouched, I hold dear,

Protected from the flames that ever sear.

A dance of strength, champion facing his fate,

Sword and fire clashed, a tempest they create,

Inhaling vacuum, drake's inferno awaits,

Knight leaped forward, life's intricate tapestry to braid.

Exhaling flames, the drake's fiery breath,

Engulfed the knight, the dance of life and death,

Yet his shield fell, a counter against fiery depth,

Sword swung true, a hero's final breath.

In pain he fought, a champion's true might,

Striking with his blade, a beacon in the night,

Lethal burn met steel, ending the fight,

Falling dead, end of the trial's sight.

With waning strength, he called for his bride,

Darkness approached, a relentless tide,

Hero fell, life's grasp untied, Unbeknownst,

I ran from the cave, hearts collide.

I stopped, heart heavy, love laid bare,

Over dragon's form, a savior's wear and tear,

Burned yet untamed, his spirit rare,

Sorrow filled my heart, love's pain to bear.

Tears flowed like tide, an outward stream,

Though he'd saved me, life's fragile gleam,

In the forest deep, where love lies supreme,

Forever near, where my heart deems.

Hi JD.
Sounds good ๐Ÿ‘

Greetings,
Slavka ๐Ÿ‘‹

Thanks, Slavka.

JD

You are welcome, JD.๐Ÿ‘‹

:)

I think this one looks pretty good too, JD.

Myra ๐Ÿ’œ

Thanks, Myra.

JD

That one looks pretty good, JD! I would still publish all three though, and add the perspective in the title!

Jeff

I still might, Jeff.

Then a question or two comes up. Should I try to write a story around each perspective of the poem? (very challenging I think) and Would people want to read three perspectives of the same story?

JD

I would do all of them, JD! When you publish, different people might like different things! No worries there, my friend!

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff.

I will think about it.

JD

You bet, JD!

Jeff

:)

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Hi, JD

You could include all four in one booklet! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Frank ๐ŸŽธ

That is another possibility, Frank.

Please check out my answer to Jeff and chime in on that.

JD

Hi, JD

Yes, I think three perspectives of the same story is what makes it unique and fun to read!๐Ÿ˜Ž

Frank ๐ŸŽธ

Thanks, Frank.

But as three separate books?

JD

I like the idea of incorporating all the poems into a single document that gives everyoneโ€™s point of view.

This is also worth considering, Frank. See Jeff's suggestion.

Thanks

JD

Yes, I agree with Jeff. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thnks, frank.
