This is the poem from the Knight's Perspective.

ADragon's Love

(Knight'sPerspective)

Amidst thenight, my heart with sorrow weeps,

From castlekeep, I tread where darkness creeps,

Down forestpaths, my quest takes me deep,

For the fierybeast that stole my love's sleep.

Withvengeance's fire in my determined eye,

I vowed thatthis monster would surely die,

To save mybeloved or avenge her fate,

I journeyedforth, driven by love and hate.

The beast, ascourge that spread fear wide,

Now stolen mylove, her absence I bide,

Silent woodswhisper of the terror it supplied,

A monstrousfiend whose presence can't hide.

Deeper intoshadows, I press my way,

Torchesflicker, lighting my night's sway, T

hrough thedarkness, I push, a valiant display,

Till theinvader's lair, where danger holds sway.

In a king'sbarrow mound, ancient and old,

The thiefsleeps, a story yet to be told,

Honor guides myhand, compassion takes hold,

I sound myhorn, challenge in silence bold.

Invadedterritory, its anger takes flight,

Roaringresponse, my presence ignites,

My heart races, poised for the imminent fight,

My steeddances, its power in the night.

Emerging darkas shadows in the night,

To scorch andrend, extinguishing all light,

I chargeforward, my path set and right,

Hooves poundthe earth, a symphony of might.

Eyes glowingwith destruction's intense blaze,

Lance meetsscales in this moonlit phase,

A snap, a cry,a dance in the moon's gaze,

Shadowed clash,the final chapter ablaze.

Graspingsplintered lance, it draws me near,

I'm flungthrough the air, echoes clear,

My prayer, hergrace untouched by fear,

Shielded fromflames that ever sear.

Facing my foe,the champion takes stand,

Mountforgotten, sword in hand,

Inhalingvacuum, fiery fate close at hand,

I leap forward,into destiny's grand.

Exhaling itsfury, the drake's flames roar,

Enveloping me,a battle to even the score,

My shieldfalls, its challenge I implore,

Sword's fierceswing, ending forevermore.

Screaming inpain, I continue to fight,

Striking withmy blade, dispelling the night,

Lethal burn metwith valiant might,

The dragonfalls, ending this blight.

With waningstrength, I call for my bride,

Darknessapproaches, a relentless tide,

I fall, life'sgrip released far and wide,

Unseen by her,my fate, a knight's pride.

I stand, hergaze heavy, my form laid bare,

Over thedragon's remains, my final wear,

Burned, broken,in shadows I share,

Sorrowfulechoes, love's eternal affair.

Tears flow likethe tide, an outward stream,

Though I savedher, life's vanishing gleam,

In the forestdeep, where my love's dream,

She remains, where my spirit is redeemed.

Thanks, Myra.

I will post #3 tomorrow morning, early.

I would separate the run on words, but other than that, things are looking good, JD!

Jeff

I try to check and make sure this doesn't happen. But, obviously, I miss it some. I need a better editor. :-)

JD

It happens, JD!
