“Wait… That Came From WHERE?!” – The Affiliate Shock I Didn’t See Com
You ever check your commissions and go… “Wait, what?!”
That was me just now.
I logged into my AWIN dashboard expecting to do my usual scroll—see the usual penny clicks or low-converting traffic stats—but then…
Boom.
One commission from Booking.com that I didn't even know I earned… and another from Campspot, which is part of my main affiliate engine.
Here’s the breakdown (just from the past 2 days):
➡️ Booking.com North America – $27.97 USD
➡️ Campspot – $5.58 USD
Total from 2 brands, 1 affiliate platform, in just 48 hours: $33.55 USD
The “Ta-Da” Moment 🎉
Was it life-changing money? No.
But it was proof.
➡️ Proof the system works.
➡️ Proof that even when you're not staring at the screen, things are happening.
➡️ Proof that all those links sitting quietly in your content? They’re doing their job behind the scenes.
I didn’t actively promote Booking.com this week. It just happened. And that’s the beauty of building affiliate content that works for you over time.
Now Let’s Have Some Fun With the Numbers 📈
Let’s say this trend continues, just as it is. Nothing added, nothing boosted. Just the same two commissions, every two days…
$33.55 every 2 days = $16.77/day average
Monthly = ~$503.10Annually = ~$6,037.20Over 10 years = $60,372.00Not bad for a “bare minimum” baseline, right?
But let’s shift gears a second…
What happens if instead of just two affiliate programs…
You’re working with 96+ brands like I am?
And what if…
- Each of those brands starts converting like Campspot and Booking.com?
- You get one or two surprise commissions per platform each week?
- You multiply those daily earnings by even 5 or 10 active affiliate partnerships?
We’re talking thousands per month, built up slowly, stacked like cordwood during an off-grid winter.
Why I’m Sharing This
Because this is exactly what Wealthy Affiliate trains us to do.
Stick with it.
Show up.
Create content.
Place the links.
Trust the timeline.
No, it won’t all come in a tidal wave at first. But drips become streams. Streams become rivers. And rivers carve canyons.
Final Thoughts: This is Just Day 2…
These two commissions are just a tiny taste.
And yet, it was enough to fire me up and remind me why I’m doing this.
👉 I am going to stick with this.
👉 I am going to scale.
👉 I am going to stay positive, stay real, and keep learning.
And if you're just getting started—or doubting your progress—hang in there.
Your "wait… what?!" moment is coming too.
✌️ From the road,
Jeremy D.

This reminds me of a time I saw $73 in my WA and it had been there for so long. LOL I had made sales and didn't even know. I had earned through site comments and didn't know either; It was really funny because of all the time that had passed.
Wow! That's inspiring. I wonder how long it takes for you to build one for a start and scale to 96+ brands. Any tips on building that many brands for newbies?
Great question. Truth is, it didn’t happen overnight. I started with just one brand and one piece of content at a time. I focused on products or platforms I actually used—like gear for our RV life or tools that made affiliate marketing easier for me.
Here’s how I scaled to 96+ affiliate programs:
1. Start with Your Niche: Pick 1–2 trusted programs (Amazon, Booking.com, WA itself is a great one) that make sense for your content.
2. Focus on Value: Every piece of content I built had a job—to help someone, not just sell something. That builds trust, and trust leads to clicks.
3. Track What Converts: As I saw clicks and sales roll in, I expanded around the ones that performed. No need to force it—just build where traction shows up.
4. Use Tools Like WA, Awin, ShareASale, Impact, CJ, etc.: Once you’ve got your content engine running, you can plug in multiple offers that match your audience's vibe.
5. Be Patient—but Consistent: It’s taken me a couple years of steady building. But now, with posts ranking and links sitting quietly on my site… I get those “Ta-da!” moments even when I’m offline.
Stick with it, friend! You’ll be surprised how the little actions snowball into something big down the road.
Thank you! Grateful for these tips. I'm sure these are also helpful to others like me in the community to learn and feel encouraged to keep moving forward. Best!
Great work Jeremy regardless of the amount each small win will grow larger as you put more effort which you are doin
