Fashion Designer 'Kate Spade' found was found dead at 55

The famous Fasion Designer Kate Spade was found dead in her apartment after what was an apparent suicide.

The police have stated that she was found in her New York apartment by her housekeeper.

Kate Spade was a well-known Fashion designer and Entrepreneur (like many of us here at Wealthy Affiliate).

Her being a successful entrepreneur is what brings me to the reason of this post, because so many of us entrepreneurs are chasing success, and we sometimes get caught up in the day to day grind of things its important to make sure that we keep our mental health in check. As someone who has attempted suicide before I know all to well the dangers of losing balance in life and just wanting to die.

Its hard for me to even find the courage to write a post like this because of the negative thoughts I myself have had for people suffering with depression. I would say things like get over it, stop being dramatic, everybody has problems so suck it up and deal with it, but depression is not just about being sad its a mental state that can really cripple your physical being it can make you quit your job, file for divorce, commit suicide anything that a "Rational person" wouldn't do.

I started working from home almost a year ago and things were going well and then a really rough patch hit and I wanted to give up, I started feeling like a failure, I started hating myself, I felt like a looser I just wanted to die so at least my family could use my life insurance money. I fought through it and I'm glad I found this community because reading other people's stories are very encouraging and knowing I have this extra support system here at WA when I need it is awesome.

While I still have my good days and bad days, but I find relief in God and my family I think about how my family would feel if they were to lose me the love that I know they have for me powers me through any self harmful thoughts that I might have. I will never forget the day I checked my self (more or less my therapist forced me) into a mental health institute, I was so ashamed and embarrassed because I would have to tell my family where I was going to be, and they were all so supportive and they all just encouraged me to get the help I needed and to get better.

That support means so much to people that may be going through depression so be sure to always offer your support and show the people in your life how much they mean to you, because you can't always spot the people suffering from depression that look just like you.

The point is to just be kind because you never know what someone else is going through the internal battles that they are fighting its bad enough when you don't feel good enough you don't need the rest of the world telling you that will never succeed.
