If you're sharing the account, no, not really. Just give him the login to the website. Now, IF you will be promoting WA, you'll also be sharing the WA affiliate link. If that's okay with you??

Thanks Pj.

The page contains large pictures and an active picture slider.

Probably some conflict between plugins and the slider. First try it with all the plugins deactivated, except slider. Or possibly the images aren't the correct size for the slider. Check they are.
If it still moves around then it's probably browser. See what it looks like in a different browser. Might be an add on like AdBlock, I know that causes stuff to jump around sometimes.
If it still has a problem, post the link here. Then other people can test. See if it's just on your PC or for everyone.

Thank-you Ian for the comment. Do you mind if I share this information with a friend here on WA? She also has sliders.

Go ahead. You're welcome to share it.

Thanks! :)

I would like to write my content on a page and include another short article enclosed in a box on the right-hand side of the page. Maybe use a light background color.

Hi Jazz, looks like Katkat gave you the answer already!

Thanks for responding Heroba. It is very appreciated.

Wordpress is a brilliant platform to use for website but there is a learning curve attached to it and your technical abilities will determine how steep that learning curve is.
it's not made any easier by the fact that each theme is different and what you can do it one thing you can't do in another.
the content on the page in those themes is the white bit in the middle and that may be flanked as in this site by a menu on either side.
The left-hand menu in WA has the activity dashboard the training the tools and the affiliate program, on the right-hand side it has questions and answers etc..
The content can be displayed in two ways on most themes and this is governed in dashboard appearances/settings/reading and then tick a summary boxPart of the article showing or fulltext which means you can read the whole article.
Normally the right hand side or left hand side is the menu and this is governed by widgets you would create a little short article by inserting a blank text box in the within the widget area within that box you would type say three sentences

blah de blah de blah etc

then
Between these chevrons type the text you want to appear such as read more here

the URL between the " and " is the direction you want to ie the page you are sending them to, it can be an about page or another page in your site or it may be an external page an affiliate link
Hope this helps if not ask again

Thank-you Katkats. I like this idea you gave me for using the Widgets to type a small 3-sentence article. I am going to remember this. This particular content is well over 200 articles, so maybe I had better see if I can use columns on a page. I will probably use the widgets idea on another page.

This box that I had envisioned is going take from the top down to about 3/4 of the page on the right. I should just as well use columns.

It would depend on the theme you choose. Some allow 2 columns, and side bar. others 3 columns, others only 1, You have to decide what you want.
I suggest you draw it out, then check the different themes to see which one comes the closest to what you. ( That would keep it simple.)

That would keep it practical as well. when we used to code html 4 sites by hand we always started with that drawing, but that was back in the day when the dinosaurs walked the earth .

Thank-you dynamite. I had a sketch in the beginning, but my ideas for this site keep evolving. I need to do a new sketch.

Is there a way to beef the domain up in the construction of the whole website?

I don't want to get so much invested in this if this is not a good idea in the first place.<

Hi Eiress! -

It would help if you included your sites URL!

Keep in mind this is not even close to being finished yet. www.smallthingsmusic.com

Hi Eiress! -

I can not see a problem with that domain name at all - I think it is very apt!

I would stick with that name but if you don't feel comfortable with it you better change it now before you start building your site out.

Slow and steady wins this race! ;)

OK, Thank-you davyrobot. I am going to try to build this out as soon as I can. It doesn't make much sense like it is now.
