Be careful what you wish for.......

"Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it". Most of us have heard that saying before. The Pussycat Dolls even used it in a their song "When I Grow Up". I started thinking about this after my Opthamologist recently told me i had to take off from work for 2 weeks because I have Conjunctivitis aka Pink Eye. (If you watched the Olympics I looked like Bob Costas.) I felt fine but I didn't look fine.

I usually only get one day off per week so, when I woke up the next morning I was a little freaked out about not having anywhere to be for the next two weeks. I took a couple of deep breaths and then I realized, "This is what I've been wishing for". For months I've been saying that I wished I could have 2 weeks off where I felt well, so that I could get some things done in my house, other business stuff I needed to catch up on and some much needed rest. The Universe finally provided it!

I almost missed the opportunity. When I first went to my Opthamologist he sent me to my Eyelid Specialist to make sure what was happening wasn't due to the surgery I had in August 2013. The Eyelid Specialist said it was Pink Eye, prescribed some drops and said I should take off from work for 2 weeks but didn't say it was mandatory. Well, I teach Massage Therapy and do Massages so I cancelled the massages but had no coverage for teaching. A week later, no change. Back to my Opthamologist who then told me "No Options" I should stay home for 2 weeks and he wrote a note.

The Universe made me listen this time. I'd asked for this gift, didn't I want it? In the past I had just asked/wished for 2 weeks off. My wish would come true. I would get the time off, but it would be due to surgery and I'd be flat on my back recovering and in pain. I couldn't be productive. So I finally learned to be more specific. Put in a few more details. My wish came true. I also have unemployment because I am now part-time. I'm grateful for the income. the Universe also gave me a little extra bonus of $100 from my medical insurance. WooHoo! 2 gifts!

What I Learned:

1) We do get what we wish for, so keep it positive. 2) Get specific. 3) Your wish can come true at any time, so keep your eyes and ears open. 4) Be ready to take your gift when it comes. And most of all 5) ENJOY IT! I Am.

You are so right. Thanks for the reminder, especially the one about being specific.

Wishing you all the best!

I feel that way when I pray .... If you are not specific, it is not what you really were wanting..... Yes, your wish/prayer was answered but not the way you thought it would be. lol I love Disney and your quote is perfect! :)

You're right, we should be more specific with what we wish for. Sometimes we need to take what we have and think in a positive way. Hope you have a restful and enjoyable break.

The law of attraction! He he

Thanks for reading and the good wishes. Will check out your profile a little later.

Totally agree. TIME is a commodity and a gift. I wish a speedy recovery. And hopefully you get a chance to do something you love while recuperating.
