Einstein was told, "You'll never amount to anything..."

For the first seven years of his life, Albert Einstein was unable to speak without studdering or having to repeat each word he spoke slowly back to himself. He also had Dyslexia which caused one of his school teachers to declare to Albert that he would never amount to anything. Einstein was later expelled from school and flunked his college entrance exam. Forced to accept a lowly job in the Swiss Patent Office, Einstein in his mid-20's seemed destined to a life of Mediocrity.

Today, we know the name of Einstein to be synonymous with Genius. In his 26th year, Einstein did the unthinkable; He published what we know today as The Theory of Relativity in the summer of 1905. He went on to win a Nobel Prize and became an international celebrity.

What did Einstein have that we don't?

When Einstein died in 1955, his brain was preserved to be studied. It wasn't till the early 1980's a young female Marian Diamond, a neuroanatomist at the university of California conducted an experiment in which she isolated a number of rats in cages with nothing to play with.

She also placed in a wide open area a different set of rats who had access to play toys. The rats that were confined in cages suffered from literal brain shrinkage and some eventually died.

While, the rats who had the toys, their brains appeared to grow in size. An increase in Glial Cells were found in the rats who had access to the toys. Glial Cells are cells that under a microscope have proven to literally provide an increase in brain power, thus a higher intelligence by creating more connections between neurons, allowing for more additional connections. This lead to an increase in memory and cognitive response and even what appeared to be an increase in intelligence for the rats who had the toys.

Under closer research,

it was found that Genius could be cultivated through mental exercise which produced the increase in Glial Cells. The same that was found to be true in the rats' brains was found in Einstein's brain. Marian Diamonds research proved, "the more we learn, the more Glial Cell connections are formed in the brain.." - In other words, the more Glial Cells that you build up through using the brain, the stronger and more effecient your brain will become!

Likewise,

when we cease to learn and our mind stagnates, these connections held together by Glial Cells dwindle away. If what happened in the rats' brains happened in Einstein's brain, the implications are that new Einstein's can be made by the proper mental stimulus and excersise.

Why not YOU?

Einstein used his brain and by doing so accomplished what look to be feats of Genius - You can do the same, and more by choosing to exercise your mind in thinking, and create those mental connections that give you the mental power to succeed where you may otherwise fail. Recall that It's not about the number of brain cells as much as it is about the number of conections you make between your brain cells - and you do this by exercising your mind. I will tlak about various ways to excersise your mind in a future post. For now, just know that the key to increased intelligence is to use and exercise your mental powers!

We all have a dream...

And, you can have yours! The only things that work in your life are those things you make PART of your life, so begin making it habit today, to exercise your mental powers. There are plently of ways to exercise the mind. In fact, you can start exercising your mind by making the choice to search Google "exercises to strengthen the mind", or something to that effect. Mix and match words until you find what your looking for! In a future post, I will outline some beneficial ways (that I use daily) to exercise your mental powers.

Until then, thank you for reading.

Success and more - be yours!

Jay, by now we understand that if we don't exercise our muscles they grow weak and we lose the use of them. I believe that this is true of our brain which is an organ. Figuratively speaking, "If we don't use it, we may lose it."
