The Future Of MLM, Network Marketing, Direct Sales.

Hi, here is my view on the future of the direct sales industry.

If you ask me, MLM, Network Marketing, Direct Sales... or what you wanna call it, is here to stay.

I'm Working with a Direct Sales company from Scandinavia, which I started on last year September 2016.

We are having an average of 50% growth annually since the company started in 2005.

In 2005 the EU made a new directive for Network Marketing. This works as a recommendation for new laws in the member countries. The essence in the directive is that more than 50% of the commission paid to salespeople, should come from customers outside the commission system.

In other words, this means more customers than partners.

The company I work with was the first to implement the EU directive, making it impossible to earn money, without having far more customers than partners.

About 70% of the customers are from outside the company and other companies in the industry will probably begin to implement the same strategy.

The company started out in Scandinavia and has now grown to 34 countries and opening up for India next year and the rest of the world within 5-10 years.

If you ask me MLM (I prefer to call it Direct Sales) is here to stay.

One of the reasons is, that if it is a good company, you get quality products, good training, personal growth and a community of positive people lifting each other up.

I went from anxiety 1 year ago to standing on a stage in Globen, Stockholm last week with 4-5 others in front of 4000 people from around the world to receive a recognition price...

That's what I call personal growth.

For me, the journey has just begun and I'm aware of, that this is a long-term project and I'm so glad that I found WA to help me on my journey ahead.

I started in WA when I was looking for a way to learn how to promote my direct sales company online, which have been a dream to learn for years.

With WA I actually have a duplicable system to teach those who want to promote online and build a team... that's multiple income streams.

If you find this article outside Wealthy Affiliate and want to learn more about the company i work with, please feel free to join WA and send me a pm when you have joined.

Cheers,

Jasser O. Schou

Hi Jasser, i join WA with that concept in mind: to leverage my MLM business (not join yet but i love the opportunity) with a niche site to drive traffic to the MLM opportunity, can you please give me some pointers to what shoul i do? Many thanks in advance

I'm interested in this idea too. There are several MLM options that I think would be a good fit for my niche site. I wouldn't mind driving traffic in that direction.

Hi, there are several ways to do it. One is to follow the training in here and blog. (I started on that but found it hard to write blog posts on a regular basis.). Another way is to use social media and drive traffic to your site that way, by building a relationship with people and then ask if they are open. (don't spam links).

Hope that this gives some ideas and feel free to connect in pm or on facebook.

Cheers,
Jasser

A few years back I was in direct sales and MLM. Today, I would not take it back. Online marketing and affiliate marketing is working well. Thank you for sharing your views on this topic.

I'm glad it's working well for you.

I like the personal growth I get from the direct sales and the online marketing part I get with affiliate and now also the direct sales.

I will use both in the future to come.

Hi Jasser, me too, I'm also in direct sales. It's good to be with companies that strive to be compliant with existing regulations, and it's good to hear that yours is one of them.

For me, being involved in MLM is like being involved in affiliate marketing. The earning potential is great, but honestly, we don't own the MLM company. So, what's left to us? Our websites.

Wealthy Affiliate is here to help us build our websites and our personal brand. Because, when everything's gone including our downline teams, the only thing that's left to us is our list and our websites.

That's true, but the chances that both Wa and the directs sales company should go down is pretty small.

By using WA as the gateway to the direct sales company you already have a team and 2 income streams: WA and the other company.

I have been in MLM before where the top leader in our team pulled the whole team out of a company because the company didn't listen to the demands from the partners to expand and improve. (and that was the old way of MLM type of company)

If you are or have a good leader the team will follow, but my guts tell me that the company I work with now will survive way beyond 2035 and will change a lot of peoples lives.

And still, it's possible to promote your self, your personal brand and your website. while promoting a direct sales company on the sideline.

Regards,
Jasser

Very interesting article.

I have been involved in network marketing before. The new EU directive is good as most of the NM seems to be disguised ponzi schemes.
It's nice to hear you have a duplicable system to promote WA. I hope it's shareable.

I hope that the rest of the world will implement a similar approach to get rid of the Ponzi schemes.

The idea is that WA will act as the duplicable system to promote the direct sales company, as one of the niches the new WA member could use... I'm not so good at expressing what I mean..hehe.

But I have a picture of building a team in my direct sales company of WA bloggers. So first they join Wa, then build their main page by following the first lessons (for ex. build the first webpage to get their customers in the direct sales company).

After that, they then start the affiliate Bootcamp training to promote Wa and the partner part of the direct sales company.

Does that make sense?

And I agree there are a lot of Ponzi schemes.

My advice to people before joining a direct sales company is to look if the company is a member of the direct sales organization DSA.

Your idea makes sense. They would be promoting WA and your direct sales organisation.

Yes, that's the idea. :)

If people want to promote other affiliate programs, they could do that as well.
