This Will Sound Simple and Silly

But after 12+ years of being an entrepreneur, having now built a few business from scratch (blogs, products, websites, etc included), I think it goes without saying, for me, there has been one silly simple theme to all that has happened to date.

Although I have not taken much time to blog here on WA, this morning, after responding to a few website review comments, I thought it best to put this out there as maybe a small, but helpful reminder.

So, here you go...

My One Suggestion for Success

DO SOMETHING EVERY SINGLE DAY...WITHOUT FAIL!

Yes! That is it! Nothing less, nothing more!

The ability to achieve any goal, to win any race, requires step after step after step BE TAKEN!

Therefore, if you agree that this is necessary, the single best way, in my humble opinion to achieve success, in any endeavor is to do this in such a way that your efforts create momentum through a compounding effect.

One day at a time, one step MINIMUM per day. No excuses. No size or time requirements.

I don't care what you accomplish towards your goal or project. All I am saying, every day, without excuses, you put effort into moving the ball forward, taking that very next step!

Have a Plan

...and follow it! But adjust as needed.

Personally I live off my the calendar and Things app on my iPhone. My businesses and my personal life included!

I know when I am to be where and what I am to be working on almost hourly. Free time is laid out as well, thus allowing me to NEVER feel guilty.

But, come hell or high water, SOMETHING will be done for the newest business, 3D Labs Nutrition, DAILY!

This single promise to myself, when starting something new allows me to ensure if nothing else, I am creating a habitual process. And, since we know, tomorrow and the future is and will always be based on what we do today...this daily habit serves me well.

I think it can, and will, serve all of us well, if our desire to achieve success is strong enough.

Give it a try, starting today! No excuses! It is YOUR future!

And remember, while your circumstances may determine your choices, it is your Decisions that Determine your Destinations!

Changing Lives Daily,

Jason

So I think your website is kick ass, and I would definitely feel comfortable making purchases on it as a consumer.

I'm wondering if you could take a look at one of my blogs. After three months I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction.

The ones that I felt would be best, are set up like some nicer supplement website. Not nearly the graphics.

I list benefits of pre or post workouts, and then go through about 4 of my recommendations.

Could you please, please let me know if you think this is going in the right direction?

Here is an example of one of these.

https://preworkoutchallenge.com/protein-powder-that-doesnt-cause-bloating-because-who-wants-to-bloat/

Thank you!
Jim

I think it looks great!

The site is laid out well, a visitor knows what to do (click on one of your links), there are ads on the right side - looks very professional.

Dave.

Hey Jim! First and foremost, thank you for the kind words! Since these sites are living, breathing things that should continue to evolve, I truly appreciate it!

I was happy to take a peek at your blog and site overall! I hope my thoughts help in some small way.

1. My first and immediate suggestion would be, consider removing the Ad placement above your header banner on all pages. I think YOU, YOUR site, YOUR content should be first. This initial impression is very important and I don't think you want visitors to land and immediately feel like "ADS" lol

2. Additionally, on your Homepage, I would also remove the banner ad UNDER your header image. Same rationale. There are great placements for ads, but I think the initial impression should be about YOU and what YOU offer!

3. As you continue to build out, I would suggest you make better use of your footer section, possibly even moving things like recent comment down there as opposed to your sidebar.

4. On your sidebar, I would personally limit the ad placement to ONE! You have way too much good stuff to use on the prime real estate of a sidebar! Maybe placing a section at the top of the sidebar that kind of tells everyone immediately what you see as the protein problem and how your site will help.

5. Also, possible sidebar suggestion...find a few of your most important, powerful blog posts and set them up as HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING or A PLACE TO START. In other words, DRIVE people to the posts you think are your EVERGREEN posts.

6. Have you considered links in your header menu to possibly breakdown your content into sections, making stuff easier to find?

7. Now that I have read this specific post on bloating, the recommended proteins listed might in and of themselves be something for your sidebar as well. In other words, BLOAT-FREE PROTEINS...and then link to the corresponding Amazon links for each in their names listed. I just see this as a great chance to keep a problem you are solving front and center at all times. (shout if this was confusing) lol

8. Content is GREAT! Obviously, it all holds a special place for me lol

As I said, these bad boys are ever-evolving so most importantly...JUST KEEP GOING! I think you are off to a great start in a real niche that many will appreciate.

Let me know if the above helps in any way or if you need more clarity on any of it!

Jason,
I really appreciate that response!!
3D is more of the website and mine is a blog, so I guess I should not be comparing the two as far as graphics and what not.

Happy to know that I’m not so far off base, since I’m a newbie at this and it can be a little scary at times out here alone.

I don’t really like the AdSense at all, and have been reading comments on it and I saw a lot of that. Especially for the earnings.
I didn’t know it was on there because I had deactivated my plug-ins for it.
I just went to AdSense and canceled it there, so hopefully that will help.

I can probably figure out the side bar and footer things you mentioned. That sounds good, having important blogs highlighted.

I think you’re talking about having actual product on the side bar too?

I’m not sure what links to the header menu mean. I don’t I think I see them on your site.

An experienced person had written me in the past saying that I don’t need to worry about my homepage because it is the blogs that are going to get ranked.
However he was doing WA, so it might be different.

I will start trying to digest some of the things, but thank you for the suggestions. Fully I will be able to figure it out. 👍👍👍👍

Jim

@jimdurfee I understand completely. One of the best things about the WA platform, you are never really alone! Tons of info, but as many willing to help I think as well.

I am not opposed to Adsense on your site as a potential revenue stream, I just personally think the Adsense locations have to be well thought out from a user appearance/standpoint. But again, this is just my humble opinion.

With your header, I was suggestion possibly looking at your blog posts, categories of them and then linking directly to the individual categories as separate links in the header. My thought was this clarity might help lead to more information being seen/read.

For example, if you had categories on your blog, say fitness, nutrition, and supplementation. Three different categories that all your posts fall into one of...I would place those three categories as header menu links.

As for not worrying about your homepage, I guess that depends on the individual's goal/desire to build a company/site or simply get ranked in hopes of sales. Personally I don't know how to do anything on a small scale so....i tend to think, do big! But hey...Many would say I'm broken so! lol

Hope that makes a little more sense. Just keep going! Evolution...always evolution! :)

Wonderful advice. It certainly works.
Have a lovely productive day

Lily 😁🎶

Thank you Lily! Thrilled to hear at least one person agrees! :)
