I am being warned by Esset, my Smart Security that there are unwanted applications on this website which slows down the activity of your computer. Temporarily, I have allowed Wealthy Affiliates to not be blocked by my Smart Security program.

I would like to notify Kyle about this so he can clean up the problem. You all may have experienced this slowdown, so let our community know and get Kyle and to make our website safe and "unwanted" applications free.

Update 3 30 19 = I am no longer getting these warnings from Esset, my anti-virus program.

I am not sure if it is because I reinstalled Windows, and then Esset, or because Microsoft did an update on their end, or maybe our leaders worked on the site themselves.

Anyhow, great to have these kinds of resolutions to our problems.

Hi and thanks for this info.

This post makes it seem like it is related to a Chrome Extension.
https://support.eset.com/kb6551/
Are you actually using Chrome?

Did you check your extensions? Or try disabling any recent extensions you have added?

2

Yes to using Chrome. No to checking my added extensions.

But, now I have and removed the extension that said to prevent Esset from leaving cookies. Makes sense, I guess. Thanks so much for your help.

I'll let you know if I see it again. I expect not!

Peace and Joy,

J. Angele

Nice to know support here is awesome. I use Chrome myself on an iMac, but I try to steer clear of extensions because from my experience it is not good, at least on an Apple, and other PC's used in the past. Glad it worked out.
Take care,
Bill
