How to Import Amazon products into WordPress

Amazon has made it incredibly easy to create online stores, but if you run a Word Press site, there’s one part that can be tricky: importing products from Amazon into your WordPress store with the WP All Import plugin. In this guide, I’ll show you how to import Amazon products into WordPress using the WP All Import plugin and tools like Excel or Google Sheets to quickly turn your Excel data into content ready to publish on your WordPress site.

Go to the WP eCommerce page

WP eCommerce makes it simple for you to list and sell items on your website or blog. You’ll be able to import your existing items from your Amazon account, as well as list new ones. From there, customers can add them their cart and pay through PayPal or Stripe. To get started: go to WP eCommerce , and then follow these steps: Click Import inventory in the sidebar menu (1) on All In One WC. Sign in to your Amazon Seller Central account (2). Select Inventory under Settings. Check which categories of products you want to import by searching for a category under Available Categories and checking its box. Uncheck any categories that don’t contain any products (3). Scroll down and click Download CSV File for Your Products(4), choose whether you want to include shipping options, and click Download (5). Copy and paste or upload that file onto your computer. Go back to Wp ecommerce . Enter a title for your product in Title. Search for an image URL (e.g., https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon .com/images/I/51gnlYQTZPL._SL1500_.jpg ) and enter it into Image URL. Make sure Product Type is set to External Product. Enter a quantity greater than 0 (if applicable) in Qty. If you have more products, select Add Another Row(6) to keep adding.

Add your Amazon Affiliate ID

Before you import any products from your Amazon account, be sure to create an Amazon affiliate link for your site. Once that’s been added, head over to your Word Press Dashboard and click on Amazon Associates in your Storefront Settings. Then click on Products in your left-hand navigation bar. On that page you should see two tabs: Your Affiliate ID is what will allow people to search for products on Amazon through your site. Be sure it's filled out! Click New Product if you're creating a new product; otherwise just enter in additional information like its name, price and ASIN number (which can be found by clicking List all details under Product Details). Click Add Product. Now your item has been added!

Tell WP eCommerce you have a Product Feed

Once you have set up your product feed with Amazon, go ahead and tell WP eCommerce that you have a feed. Under Settings->WP eCommerce Product Feeds tab click on Add Product Feeds. Scroll down in that page and find Amazon (AWS), select it, then click on Save Changes button at bottom of page. After saving you need to give it time till next refresh from AWS so refresh will happen after 5-10 minutes at max. Depending on how many items you got there might be delay or maybe not but if everything goes smooth you should see status of your import as active under Products –> Taxonomies –> All Categories under Manage Products tab in WP eCommerce admin section. When status is inactive there is some issue with import process so review both Amazon product page and WP eCommerce for additional info about possible issue.

Copy/Paste your Feed Link

Go to your 'WordPress admin panel' and in 'plugins' section, look for a plug-in called AMZPlugin (or similar). Install and activate it. A new menu item called 'AMZPlugin' will appear in your menu bar. Click on it. Your feed will appear now under that link with [wp_amz_import] or whatever name you chose when creating an API key, paste it in your post text box and publish.

Fill out your product details

To begin, go to Manage > Products in your Seller Central account. Select Add a Product, and on Step 1 of 3: Key Product Details , fill out all of your product details. At a minimum, you will need to provide SKU (an Amazon-specific identifier for your product), ASIN (Amazon’s identifier for its catalog), and UPC (the unique 12-digit number that differentiates products from other sellers). If you’re selling used books or media—whether they are yours or another seller’s—you also need to include condition information.

Save, Publish, and Profit!

Amazon has made it super easy for anyone with a product (or service) on their website to get that product listed on Word press . To import your product, follow these steps: 1. Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account and go under Inventory in Selling. 2. Click on All Products in the main menu. 3. Select any category from which you want to import items into WordPress . 4. You’ll be taken to a page listing all of those products; if you don’t see them immediately, give them time to load. 5. Hover over each product title until an arrow appears; click it, then click Save & Publish > Download/Export as Excel (.xls). 6. You should now have an XLS file containing all of your selected products! 7. Open up Excel and find sheet titled Your_Products_to_Import or something similar; there will be four columns here: Title, ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number), EAN (European Article Number), Publisher ID. 8. If desired, delete some rows so that your spreadsheet contains only those products you wish to import into WordPress . Make sure you leave at least two columns blank so that Google Sheets can easily parse them!

Additional Tips and Tricks

If you are considering selling products on your site and utilizing a shopping cart, then it’s very important that you check with any theme or plugin developers before implementing it. There are many of them out there which don’t play nice with WordPress shopping carts or even at all. It is also recommended that you create a subdomain instead of using your root URL if you want visitors to view a different domain than your main one.

That's very helpful information. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, James! Nicely laid out, my friend! Though I am not an Amazon Affiliate, and likely never will be, this is important for those who are, or plan to be!
