New Year, Same You?
New Year, Same You?
It’s Mid-January but still and excellent time to look at the year in review and ask yourself those important questions that led to successes or not so successful outcomes.
2020
After 12 months of working consistently to build my business past the point of just being a hobby, I remembered myself. I had never written many articles about myself or my journey on my blog here within Wealthy Affiliate but was pleasantly surprised to rediscover myself.
My favorite find is the post on promoting Wealthy Affiliate for the first time. Do you know that promoting the platform still stumps me? When I review my campaign promotional efforts I can see all of the right steps that I had taken as an absolute rookie. I laughed because Kyle’s instructional video is approximately 20 minutes in length, but the time it took me to really get what he says is much greater.
Applied knowledge occurred over the course of four days. I pulled out my 2020 planner to review the notes for setting up my campaign. There it was. Before work, 2 hours time slot. Late evening dinner + Wealthy Affiliate promo 90 minutes. Saturday 4 hours open, Wealthy Affiliate Promotion.
It goes on like that for a bit until the last entry. Launch. So , what happened? That meager campaign brought me 4 referrals to this platform. I feel incredibly good about that fact. Especially since my primary focus is to build my website only and earn with it exclusively. Somewhere along the line it occured to me that if I just tried a bit and followed the instructions that success could be mine too.
Missed It
So, what about Las Vegas? I missed it. Right now, Las Vegas happens at my desktop, my dinner table, and within the theater of my mind. These trainings have real value. How do I know? It’s about the person I’ve become while pursuing my goals. Not bad, because I am definitely not the same person that I was. I’ve improved.
Now for my efforts, I’ve received something important. It’s confirmation. Confirmation that it is real, and that this business works. I will say that I must make a new commitment to myself to work towards the internal bonuses here at Wealthy Affiliate while I meet my income goals externally via my blog and vlog.
A New Me
My biggest accomplishment for 2021? My first paid influencer marketing deal. That’s right! My first sponsored post occured during Christmas Season 2021 and because it's Evergreen content, that’ll be appropriate for years to come. What a win for me, and for my website page. My second largest accomplishment? Reaching 50,000 views at YouTube. I am proud of my growth. The secret is, Wealthy Affiliate first. I keep this window open for guidance and instruction before opening any other areas of my online business life. And then I refer to it often so that it is the dominant thought in my mind… It maintains my focus.
Finally, I received a new Wealthy Affiliate badge for 2 years of Membership. To ensure that this is a new year as well as a new me, I am actively seeking assistance with professional growth in areas where I am weak. To excel in referral marketing I have to invest in myself to get my business to the next level. While I am leveling up on this platform I want to encourage you to grow. This is not directed at the experienced marketers and members. I am focusing in those who have come to the platform without any experience at all and are just getting started. You can do this! This year promise yourself that yes it’s a new year, but not the same you.
